I have purchased over 30 cars in my lifetime (so far), but yesterday had the best experience ever at Johnson Volvo. Rod Blackwell was my salesperson and he was exceptional! No pressure, but very helpful but yesterday had the best experience ever at Johnson Volvo. Rod Blackwell was my salesperson and he was exceptional! No pressure, but very helpful, knowledgeable about the vehicle. He was well organized and was able to get much of the paperwork completed so that my time in the dealership was efficient. The car was immaculate when we picked it up and Rod took a personal interest in making sure everything went well. What a great experience! The whole Johnson Volvo team was great, but Rod was exceptional! More
This has been the worst experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. The finance department was no help with anything, I was the having to call them and confirm everything and that it was moving along. They a vehicle. The finance department was no help with anything, I was the having to call them and confirm everything and that it was moving along. They sent me the papers to sign and of course they added in fee's from what I agreed on. They charged 799.00 for administative fee. Then the vehicle is being sent to me but I couldnt choose who was going to transfer the car. It had to be their people and of course they charged double. Now the car has not been delivered and I have called the dealer several times for the transport company's name and nobody there knows it. How is this possible? I'm the one paying for it but I wasnt given their information. More
This was a first for me. Buying a car in this Covid era is truly an experience all it's own. A year ago I would never have dreamed of purchasing a vehicle on line, In a different city 100 miles away and is truly an experience all it's own. A year ago I would never have dreamed of purchasing a vehicle on line, In a different city 100 miles away and definitely not unseen. But here I am. Rod Blackwell at Johnson Volvo was amazing. He sent me extra photos, Answered all my questions promptly. The transaction went incredibly smooth thanks to all his attention to detail. He even arranged for the car to be delivered to me and I was not disappointed. Rod kept in touch even after the delivery was made to insure there were no loose ends. Could not have asked for better service. I would most certainly buy from Johnson Volo again and would ask for him personally. My XC-90 is beautiful. Connie Hallyburton More
My husband and I just purchased our first Volvo (xc90) at Johnson Volvo. Our sales consultant Connor Payne could not have been more helpful or pleasant to work with. He took the time to explain all of the Johnson Volvo. Our sales consultant Connor Payne could not have been more helpful or pleasant to work with. He took the time to explain all of the features since we were not familiar with the SUV. However, never put any pressure on us to purchase. Connor also took the time to find the exact model we wanted and had it shipped from another dealer! The Finance Manager, Travis Riddick, was also very courteous and helpful! We LOVE our new XC90 and highly recommend Johnson -especially Connor Payne- if you’re looking at a Volvo! More

He asked the right questions to solicit the appropriate answer and he answered some tough questions to keep us engaged in the sale process. I truly enjoyed this sales experience and would recommend other sales people mirror Mr. Blackwell to learn his approach. Thank you Mr. Blackwell for your professionalism and your service. You made the purchase a pleasure. Deidre and Terry Jackson More
My husband and I drove all the way to Durham from Charlotte with an appointment to view a used volvo to purchase for our daughter who is a new driver. After test driving, starting to talk numbers, t Charlotte with an appointment to view a used volvo to purchase for our daughter who is a new driver. After test driving, starting to talk numbers, the sales person Marcus was cocky and said we aren't budging on anything on this sheet, including the 800 dollar processing fee, after we had drove all the way over there to actually buy the car and most likely would have purchased the car had that conversation been handled differently. We got up and left. We have never been treated so rudely ever when buying a car. We have never purchased used before. I have no idea how this dealership has a 5 star rating on multiple sites. It would have been nice for them to have told us that up front that the price was the price as they knew why we were coming before we spent half the day riding over there and back. How rude & disappointing... Lesson is to get your quote before spending any time at this dealership. Again, I have no idea how this dealership has a 5 star rating. Good luck. More

Difficult to schedule an appointment, scheduler couldn't give me information, she said she had to have an advisor call me back with information and pricing and that she didn't know, she didn't even take down my concerns correctly and apparently forgot I needed a loaner car so they were scrambling for a long time to get me something to drive. The advisor was not in touch with me throughout the entire service process at all!! I had no idea what was going on and had to call several times to try to get an update on my vehicle. All around not impressed!! (Although, the techs were extremely knowledgable and professional, and gave me helpful and detailed information, info that the advisor couldn't explain at all. The advisor even claimed to have no idea that something was done to my car, even though I found it myself, as it was clearly written out in my paperwork right in front of him.) Also, Absent service manager the whole time too, & nobody knew where he went, because I tried to speak with him as well at some point. This place is nothing special. More

At last: A good Volvo dealer and service in Durham Johnson is the first decent Volvo dealer in the Triangle in many years. Efficient, honest, and easy-to-arrange service. The place I'd been forced to u Johnson is the first decent Volvo dealer in the Triangle in many years. Efficient, honest, and easy-to-arrange service. The place I'd been forced to use (not in Durham) had good mechanics, but it took forever to get anyone to call you back (no one answered the service phone) to get a service appointment. Often they never called back; I'd have to call several times. This past spring it took nearly five weeks to get them to make a simple repair, which kept me from using the car. That ws the last of many bad straws. That bad dealer's manager is a nice guy but doesn't know how to run the place, at least not according to what I saw and what his own employees told me. They said the system did not work because the manager would not hire the one more person his terrible system needed, so no one ever had to time answer calls or return them without long delays, if ever. "People are too xxxx impatient" one employee told me after a three-day wait. So I realized I'd have to trade in my Volvos for something else to get acceptable service. Great cars are useless when the service sucks. Then a salesman at the bad dealer advised me to use Johnson Volvo in Durham. I'd not know Johnson had opened up. I tried them a few times; it's the difference between night and day. The Johnson manager knows what he's doing, it's easy and fast to make service appointments, they're responsive and responsible, it's easy to get to (just off 40 near South Point), and they do an all around far better job -- even better car washes!. So for their terrible customer service, the bad dealer gets D+. Johnson Volvo in Durham is straight A. Welcome, folks! We need you. More
