John Lange did a great job of assisting us in choosing the right model vehicle and the add on features most important to us. He was very knowledgeable about the MyFord Touch and Navigation system and ans the right model vehicle and the add on features most important to us. He was very informative about the extended warranty option and rebate information. We live in Kansas City and purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer from Joe Machens only because the John Lange has no concept of service after the sale. We live in Kansas City and purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer from Joe Machens only because the dealership would not transfer the inventory to a local dealer in the Kansas City area. Further after contacting Joe Machens Ford, they would not even transfer the vehicle to their Columbia location for purchase, because as John Lange said...."I won't earn my commission if it gets purchased in Columbia." At the time of purchase, John agreed to do two things. He agreed to have the additional key and owner's manual that were not with the car sent to the Columbia location for pick-up. He also agreed to have Invision brand DVD players installed after-market. The week following the purchase, I went to the Columbia location to pick-up the key and owner's manual. The sales manager in Columbia was rude and told me that they don't hold things like that and that I needed to call John Lange to find out why he would make such a promise. John told me he decided that he would just hold them in Jefferson City until I came to have the DVD players installed....thus wasting my time. On the first attempt to have the DVD players installed, I got to Jefferson City only to find out that John had ordered the wrong color. Also, John could not remember my name when I came in. I requested that when the correct DVD players come in, that John have someone come to Kansas City to pick-up my car, so I would not have to waste another day making the trip. John agreed and then informed me that he had found a way to save me an additional $200 on the DVD players. I told him that was great......as long as we were getting the Ford Authorized Invision DVD players. Two days later, our Ford Explorer was taken to Jefferson City to have the players installed. Joe Machens was nice enough to leave me a comparable Ford Focus loaner car (yeah right) to drive while the work was being done. The work ended up taking an additional day from what was expected to complete, because the DVD players weren't working correctly. When the vehicle was returned, the DVD players were not the Invision brand we requested. John saved us the money because he used a cheap system. They did not modulate through the sounds system, they had no audio input jacks, and the head-rests were stuck in the down position and could not be adjusted. When I voiced the concern to John he first told me that these were better because they had bigger screens. After getting really upset with the deal, John vowed to order the correct DVD players and have the drivers again pick-up my car for the installation. His compensation for the 600 miles he had now put on my car trying to get it right was $100 off the price and a full tank of gas. When the car was returned the second time, he left the box in the car to prove to me that they were indeed from Invision. However, the brand on the DVD players was from Advent.....another less expensive option that I did not request. After research of Advent, it was apparent that Advent is a brand of Audiovox. Audiovox was purchased by Invision. This meant that the Invision company shipped an Advent brand DVD player.......far from the Invision DVD players I again requested. Through the entire ordeal, John Lange on several occasions tried to tell me that what he was providing was better than what I wanted and that I should have spoken up when their driver dropped off the car the first time that I was unhappy so he could have taken it back with him. The request for Invision Brand DVD players was made in writing in e-mail and was reiterated to John in person on three different occasions. The experience for buying a $50k vehicle and getting what I requested the first time was appalling. The fault falls on John Lange and I will never buy a car from him or Joe Machens Ford again. More

Fast and friendly, excellent selection, we had been looking online at F-150's and found two that we wanted to look at, Ryan was very helpful over the phone and even though one of the trucks was in Colu looking online at F-150's and found two that we wanted to look at, Ryan was very helpful over the phone and even though one of the trucks was in Columbia he arranged to have it transported to Jefferson City for us to test drive. I have the lowest rating for Joe Machens Service department because I called made an appointment explained that my warranty was going to be up in less that five thousand miles and that I would like department because I called made an appointment explained that my warranty was going to be up in less that five thousand miles and that I would like to have the Jeep checked out to assure that there wasn't anything wrong with it. However the wheel baring was loose and I am having issues with the zippers on the soft top getting stuck, I explained all of this to the service guy on the phone, he told me to bring it on up and they would look at it. Once I arrived at Joe Machens service department they couldn't even find my appointment, and they then told me I would have to leave and come back on another day. I told them that I was not leaving and that I drove all the way from Rolla Missouri and I took time off from work. Only then did they ask what the issues were with my jeep, I went on to tell them about the rattling noise and that the zippers were getting stuck and hard to unzip. The service man didn't even get up out of his chair but instead called some warranty guy and explained that he thought the wheel baring was loose. I'm not sure how a man can determine what is wrong with my vehicle when he doesn't even get up off his lazy butt to hear the noise for himself. After speaking with the warranty guy the service man explained that nothing was covered and if they looked at it they would be billing me. I asked the service man for a phone number to the warranty guy so I could discuss the issues and ask why my warranty wouldn't covor the issues. The service man refused to give me a phone number and also refused to call the warranty guy to ask him for a customer service number that I could call. So now I'm stuck with a Jeep that rattles and I can't even unzip the window to take the top down. Joe Machens you are the worst service department I have ever been to. I complain to everyone I see or anyone who brings up thier vehicle about your terrible service department. More
