I was invited in by Josh Hubbard to look at a Ford edge they had on the lot that he thought I may be interested in. I accepted his invite and came to take a look. The sales manager Keith Marlett and Josh Hubbard made the experience hassle free and was a refreshing change from the normal car purchasing process. Rick Richard in the finance department was also awesome to deal with. He explained the process and everything we were going through clearly and made it easy to understand. He helped me with my purchase of a 10 year extended warranty, and a tire and wheel warranty. He also explained them clearly so I would understand what was covered. The transaction was a total team effort, and it was obvious that all three were professionals at their jobs and show that the customer really matters! Thanks to Josh, Keith, and Rick. I had sent emails about looking at a specific vehicle at Jeff City store. I was very specific in stating I was going to be going to the Jeff City location. They said it would be no issue and would get that Jeff City store. I was very specific in stating I was going to be going to the Jeff City location. They said it would be no issue and would get that vehicle shipped. The COLUMBIA store called and emailed me to confirm I'd still be coming and that they had the requested vehicle. I reviewed the emails to verify communication and told them we had discussed Jeff City. They asked if I'd be willing to make the extra drive to Columbia, even though I was already driving an hour to get to Jeff. It was very frustrating. My salesperson was unfortunately not as knowledgeable about the vehicle that I was test driving and said he wasn't sure when questions were asked. He wasn't able to say things like "this vehicle is nice because... or this vehicle does this...". The ONLY reason I purchased from Joe Machens was because of the vehicle itself. I had test drove some vehicles at Rusty Drewing and had a MUCH better experience there, but they did not have what I was wanting. Their sales person was super knowledgeable and kept providing details about the vehicles driven. At Joe Machens, I did not get that, at all. In previous vehicle purchases I've made in my life, we were given more options at sales time (including taxes in loan, options to choose lien holder, etc). I was not given that. And when it was time to swap from trade to new vehicle, we felt very rushed because it was end of business day. We were not made to feel valued, by any means. And I find it crazy to do most of the paperwork in one building and having to cross a busy street to complete the sale... that's not safe, especially at night when it's dark. More
