When the Service Manager failed to show any compassion to a vehicle that had only 16k miles on it and advising them it feels like it wanted to stop in the middle of the street at 5:30am on my way to work with the engine light on and that this was my only means of transportation. I drove to Jim Ellis with the engine light on and park until the service dept opened. Service Dept wouldn’t take it into service at 7:00am and sent me back home. Told me I needed an appointment. Nothing they could do. I drove it back home praying it would not stop on me, made appointment and had it towed in almost a week later because of the appointment timeframe. Something is wrong with that picture. When I started it up a code was provided by KIA that told me it was an engine problem. I printed the code to bring with me to show the Service Advisor. I have never had a dealership to respond like that. Not only that when I address it with the service adviser initially, he told me and I quote “well go to another Kia dealership” and that it will take 7-10 days to find the problem and fix it. Still not the appropriate thing to say to a customer. I only purchase from this dealership because they advise they had the best customer service for their service dept. What I experience was not great customer service. Just recently the vehicle did the same thing. But since a code didn’t come on they didn’t service it. I get these codes from Kia when they detect something is wrong but I’m told that’s not valid. However, I’m paying for this service from Kia to give me a report card on my vehicle and tell me what’s going on if KIA detect problems and the service dept will not accept the code I printed out. I am so scared to drive this vehicle because I’m not sure it will cutoff on me. I am close to trading it in because I can’t guarantee the service. I would like to be comfortable with a vehicle that won’t cutoff on me especially that have 16k miles on it. I buy vehicles base on the Service Dept and how they handled customers. Jim Ellis KIA sold me on the Service Dept. Jim Ellis Kia Kennesaw needs to work on improving some service advisors personalities on how to treat customers and take there word even with the proof is coming from Kia’s report. If you can’t trust the report from Kia telling you they detect a problem, especially engine problem, than why do we have this type of service that I pay for and the service dept don’t trust it.
