Long and the short of it is I had an appointment to get my oil changed, and it took them over 2 hours to complete the work. Had I just walked up that would be ok but with an appointment it should be 30 or my oil changed, and it took them over 2 hours to complete the work. Had I just walked up that would be ok but with an appointment it should be 30 or 45 minutes tops to get me in and out for a simple oil change. They did however take the time to look at everything under the hood and “recommend” additional services that totaled over $800. I declined of course. My car is 2 years old with only 30k miles on it. Swindled again by another GMC dealership. I took my car in to get a fuel leak fixed. We had the car diagnosed by a professional mechanic before we took it to Jim Ellis. He informed us the I took my car in to get a fuel leak fixed. We had the car diagnosed by a professional mechanic before we took it to Jim Ellis. He informed us the o-ring on the tank needed to be replaced, but the worst-case scenario would be a tank replacement. We scheduled with Jim Ellis Service Dept. and informed the scheduler what our mechanic told us. The Service Dept. (Ed) contacted me and asked about the fuel leak and I told him the same thing we told the scheduler regarding our mechanic's findings and worst-case scenario. Long story short, they found creative ways to generate more income and told us we had to replace the fuel pump @ $2k (approx.). We reluctantly gave approval for that work. They get done; I get my car back; top off the tank; park it when I get home. An hour later I notice a fuel smell. I look beneath the vehicle and notice I've got a fuel leak worse than before I brought it in to Jim Ellis. I call Ed, he tells me to bring it in. I get there and he confirms it is a fuel leak and I leave my car for them to check it out and fix it. Ed calls back after the service staff diagnose it and informs me that that tank needed to be replaced @ $1600 (approx.). I was furious! I inform Ed I wasn't going to pay another dime toward the repair. He tells me he'll let the manager know and then inform me. I get in touch with Ed days later and he informs me that the manager was willing to not charge me labor costs, but I would have to pay for the fuel tank replacement. I declined. I go to pick my car up and Ed does not give me my keys, but says I had to sign some paperwork before I got my keys. Already not trusting him or the Jim Ellis GMC dealership, I sit to read the paperwork before signing and annotate on the forms that "we were forced to sign paperwork before getting the keys." We were robbed! Conclusion: I paid $2k+ for a fuel leak repair that didn't happen. Further, I informed the scheduler and Ed that the first mechanic informed us that that worst-case scenario was a fuel tank replacement. I do not trust the Jim Ellis dealership as their actions proved they wanted to milk the situation and generate all they could before addressing the problem to begin with. I have a more detailed chronological list of events regarding this situation with the first mechanic's report, pictures, video, and voice recordings. This will serve as my affidavit. More

Need better pricing on all your services. Including basic oil change. And maybe have a call back after a few days to check on customer and the work done on car. Including basic oil change. And maybe have a call back after a few days to check on customer and the work done on car. More
