However an older guy who greeted me when I pulled in gave me the impression he wanted me to leave, because I was told to come on in, instead of getting an exact appointment time 15 minutes prior. Guess he didn't know I just got off the phone with the front desk and it was a bit hot in there for the workers that day....... More

Jim Butler Service I went to Jim Butler on a Saturday for an Oil change. While I was waiting to pull my car in the bay my check engine light came on. I was unable to hav I went to Jim Butler on a Saturday for an Oil change. While I was waiting to pull my car in the bay my check engine light came on. I was unable to have this issue looked at due to Jim Butler not having anyone experienced beyond an oil change employed on the weekend. Additionally I was advised that if I wanted to leave my vehicle with them until Monday, they couldn’t guarantee My rental car would be covered or the $100 diagnostic until they figured out the problem. These were both things I was not prepared for financially so I was advised to call and make an appointment M-F. I called Monday morning to schedule an appointment and was told to bring it on in Tuesday at 10am. Great. I borrowed A vehicle and dropped my car off Monday evening. On Tuesday I called at 1 pm after not hearing anything from the dealership. I was advised that there were over 100 cars on the lot that needed to be serviced that day and he couldn’t guarantee that my car would even be looked at on Tuesday. Not really that big of a deal. I was really just needing piece of mind if the services would be covered under warranty and if I qualified for a rental becuase the vehicle I borrowed needed to be returned. I did not hear anything the rest of the day so I stopped by around 4:30 on my way home from work. I was informed that my car needed approximately $1600 worth of repairs, part of it was covered under warranty and I would receive a rental under the warranty. I began reviewing the charges and they did not sit right with me. I was still being charged a $100 diagnostic fee because only half of the repairs were covered under the power train warranty. The service ticket also stated I needed a new battery and oil change. It was explained to me that battery life can fluctuate based on weather. Sounds reasonable. I was questioning the fact I just had it in there on Saturday for an oil change and their 150 (guessing) point inspection but there was absolutely no indication whatsoever that my battery was failing two days prior? Then there is the oil change, again, I was just in there for an oil change two days prior. Could the tech on Saturday, knowing my check engine light was on, just advise me to return later in the week to check out the light and do the oil change at the same time? In my opinion, that would have been the decent thing to do. I asked him to remove the charge and he advised he would make sure the oil was topped off and the filter was tight, like he was doing me a favor. The service writer began to tell me (again) I was lucky that my car was even reviewed for service becuase there were over 100 cars on their lot for the day. That’s a service, Jim Butler, scheduling problem. Not mine. I called for an appointment and that was what they offered. Simple as that. So to be told the same thing multiple times is disappointing to say the least. After paying for the services not covered and removing the charges I deemed not necessary, I went from a $1600 estimate to $215!! I do not expect to be taken advantage of or talked down to when I’m paying for services at the dealership I purchased my vehicle from. More
