Poor service: drive-ability and tires, See addendum at end. Took delivery of my 2017 Lexus ES350 Lease on 09/25/17 from JM Lexus. The Lease process was very pleasant and straight forward. Was truly enjoying my new Lexus but I noticed a tendency to wander within the lane. I didn't pay that much attention to it until I want on my first lengthy highway trip. The wandering then became quite annoying. I soon brought the car back to JM Lexus and one of the service technicians took the car for a test drive. He came back and told me there was no problem and that the wheel alignment was within specs. I left the dealership but not totally satisfied. A few months later I went on a road trip to North Carolina. The drive was horrendous! Upon my return I was exhausted from the constant wheel corrections trying to keep the car centered within the lanes. I once again returned to JM Lexus and explained the situation to the Service Tech. I am sorry I don’t remember the service tech’s name, but he was very nice. He said the roads are crowned and it would naturally drift toward the lower part of the crown. I explained that the car would drift side to side only to be corrected by the automatic steering system. He then had the car aligned and I went back to the highway. It was better, but still not right. I went back again and asked if perhaps the tires needed to be replaced. He came back with an estimate for a new set of tires at dealer prices. I left again and not at all satisfied. I then want on another road trip to Boston, MA. The drive was still tiresome with all the steering corrections required but not a bad as the North Carolina trip. Finally, last week I went to a tire store (one of the big name chains) and explained the problem. The store rep said it could possibly be separated belts or other defect in the tire(s) but there was no way to be certain. I only have 14,800 miles on the car. I bit the bullet and had a new set of top-of-the-line Bridgestone tires installed, went for a ride and PRESTO, the car tracked straight as an arrow. PROBLEM SOLVED! Ridiculous to have to replace almost new tires at a cost of $849.58! I now know that JM Lexus is not concerned with my comfort or safety, only with trying to get their customers out of the dealership and charging as much as possible for service. I cannot see a reason for me to return to JM Lexus for service or for me to lease/buy another vehicle from them. Perhaps Acura or Infinity should be my next vehicle. It will be interesting to see if JM Lexus responds to this travesty now that my date of lease and sales rep’s name are listed above. ADDENDUM 7/22/19 The very next day I received a very pleasant telephone call from the Service Director at JM Lexus. The first thing he did was to review my service record and quickly volunteered that my condition should never have been left unresolved. There were certainly steps that should have been taken and even review by higher level supervision. There will now be some counseling so that there should not be a repeat requirement for this type of review. The Service Director is also taking some further action on my behalf which helps in renewing my faith in JM Lexus. With this type of customer service I am happy to remain a loyal customer. More
