I am sorry that Mr. DeGuzman feels the way he does regarding his experience at JL Freed. We take pride in the fact that we will not sell a car to a private buyer if we have knowledge of an issue. We have a lot at stake, customer satisfaction and our reputation is of utmost importance to us. It is true that we described the 2004 Acura TSX with 179,000 miles as having no major issues and we told him that there were no indicator lights on. Fact is when he picked up the car there were no major issues. When the technician initially inspected the car there were no lights on. However when he took it for a test drive with a friend in the passenger seat the airbag sensor was triggered. . The technician did not have a passenger in the car with him when he road tested the vehicle. When Mr. DeGuzman brought it back the first time the technician could not duplicate the problem. Unfortunately the third time was the charm and our technician was able to diagnose the problem. The good news is the part has a lifetime warranty. The bad news is that it can only be repaired under warranty at an Acura Dealership thus an inconvenience for Mr. DeGuzman. I feel that our used car manager should have shown empathy for Mr. DeGuzman’s situation and for that I truly apologize. We are very sorry for his inconvenience. It is rare that we sell an “as is” car with 179,000 miles on it but this particular car was traded by a friend of our Finance Manager, we knew it’s history and it checked out well in our service department . It is a beautiful car that was very well maintained. It is our sincere hope that Mr. DeGuzman is enjoying his car and that it serves him well.
