Ira Toyota of Hyannis responded

The General Manager, Service Mgr, and myself met with this gentleman this morning. The customer is correct in that he did have to return to have the brakes adjusted. In addition to readusting his brakes we also refunded the brake adjustment charge. As agreed, we at no time attempted to sell him additional brake work as it was not necessary. The cause of the noise he thought was brakes turned out to be a noisy speaker. It was agreed that the speaker would be disconnected and the total cost for diagnosis and repair was billed at $109.88.Apparently there was no issue until recently when the customer heard the same noise and realized the speaker had not been disconnected and the cover was broken. This is what caused his response. Bryan, Our General Manager acknowledged that we would, as always, stand behind our work. The repair order total was not $1000.00 but $585.00 of which $250.00 was a replacement hybrid auxilary battery. The tires were very worn and the l/rear at the very least, would need to be changed to pass state inspection. As agreed, that may or may not have been the source of the flat tire, . As the result of a less then stellar visit, in an attempt to assist the customer, I asked the Field Technical Specialist (from Toyota) to inspect his vehicle for the source of the water leak. He found and repaired cracked pinch welds (at no charge as the vehicle was well beyond warranty parameters). At this time we believe that all concerns have been addressed and resolved to the customer's satisfaction. We have also apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused.
