Nothing at this time for my recent visit to Toyota on October 26, 2020 for my Rav4 vehicle. I just didn't get the State Inspection done, since their machine wasn't working. October 26, 2020 for my Rav4 vehicle. I just didn't get the State Inspection done, since their machine wasn't working. More

I still br 3/21/20 I went to the dealership during the height of the COVID 19 outbreak and they assured me that the waiting room was fully cleaned. I still brought my own wipes to be safe. I went in with a complaint of the rear window making a noise when I lowered the glass and also for a regular service. They did a service and advised me that I needed brakes, so I immediately agreed and waited while they installed them. Addendum: When I left in March, I was told by the Service Advisor, Meaghan that she would contact Toyota about a rear window gasket that failed, even though there was no usage beyond raising and lowering to clean the glass. I wanted to know if Toyota would cover it and was told 3 months ago, they'd get back to me. 3 weeks after I had my brakes replaced (front & rear), I called to complain about excessive squealing when backing up. I was told to bring the car back for a check. I brought the car back. They also couldn't diagnose the squealing and the advisor I spoke with was condescending. He did offer to keep the car overnight to see if the noise occurred after sitting for the night and then blamed rust on the rotors (which were replaced 20,000 miles ago) I also asked again about the rear window gasket and they had no answers for me. This is now the fourth time I've had problems with this service department since it became affiliated with Prime Motor Group. It may be inconvenient but I'm going to Falmouth Toyota from this point forward. Further Addendum October 6, 2020 Hyannis Toyota finally made an appointment for me to get the rear window gasket installed and look at the brakes. They replace the gasket and said the brakes were noisy (no kidding) so they replaced the brake pads, yet again. October 10, 2020 - MAJOR BRAKE ISSUE. (This is the letter that I wrote to Hyannis Toyota documenting a near disaster on the highway at highway speeds. I've removed my home address from the letter. John F (last name omitted) October 10, 2020 Hyannis Toyota Service Department 1020 Iyannough Road Hyannis MA, 02601 While driving home around 5:00pm yesterday on Route 6, I heard a loud popping sound and then scraping sound. I was close to the Route 132 exit and pulled off on the exit ramp. As I was pulling off, the scraping sound became more and more evident. As I stopped at the light at the end of the ramp, the anti-lock braking system appeared to engage. I pulled off the exit ramp, put the emergency flashers on and proceeded at a snail’s pace to shoot flying hill road, all while I was pressing the brake pedal and the car was bucking each time. I was able to safely pull off the road and call for help. AAA towing arrived and took the car to Hyannis Toyota, where it had been serviced just two days before. They did a 50,000-mile service, fixed a rear gasket and replaced the brake pads due to faulty brake pads they had installed 3 months earlier. I was put into a loaner car immediately and the car is sitting at the lot. This vehicle has a history of brake issue, starting with replacement of all four rotors for abnormal wear at low mileage. Once you diagnose the problem, I want a full explanation of what is wrong; how you intend to repair the problem and who will pay for these repairs. I also want to be assured that no other systems have been adversely affected. I want this in writing before you begin to repair the vehicle. You may email this to me at Sincerely, John (Last name omitted) The tow truck delivered the SUV to Hyannis Toyota and as it was backed off the towing dolly, there was a very loud grinding noise. The tow truck operator watched closely and immediately identified the issue. Evidently, when the brakes were replaced this latest time, the mechanic failed to torque the bolts that hold the caliper in place and they sheared off causing the caliper to sheer as well and the rotor to be damaged. If I had not had the presence of mind to keep calm and not panic, this could have been disastrous and not only place me in jeopardy but those that were driving around me as well. Of course, Hyannis Toyota wouldn't admit their mistake but they did replace the pad, caliper and rotor at no charge. I sent this same letter to Prime Motor Group (parent company of Hyannis Toyota) and asked them to contact me. No one did to this day 10/24/20 I will never purchase another vehicle from Hyannis Toyota and will never service my vehicle there either. It’s a real shame cause until Prime took over, they were an independent and much better. More
I recently used the valet service to have a recall issue taken care of as well as routine maintenance, oil change, a couple of new tires, etc. etc. As usual, the work was well done and they even fixed a bu taken care of as well as routine maintenance, oil change, a couple of new tires, etc. etc. As usual, the work was well done and they even fixed a bumper issue that I didn’t ask them to do. The car looked like a million bucks when they returned it and I couldn’t be happier with it. My one complaint is that I can’t seem to get them to call my house phone instead of a long outdated cell phone number they have. They keep leaving messages with a cell phone number I no longer have. Otherwise, one of the best dealerships I have ever dealt with. More
