If you would like to give me some of your information, I would be more than happy to investigate further. The manager is correct in that most batteries today are contained and do not require water to be added. The truth of the matter is that the battery can test fine one day and have a shorted cell the next. With the extreme cold experienced last night and today it is possible for it fail even if it checked out yesterday. Again, I'll be happy to follow up if you would like to share the info with me. The service was for a 40,000 mile checkup and the date of the service was January 16th., After driving to Yarmouth to deliver an item to a friend, the car would not start. I was at the friends house for 10 minutes. After a short investigation I found no water in any of the 6 cells. I put filtered water in to fill the cells and went home and used a trickle charger to charge the battery. I jumped the battery with another car in Yarmouth. After 6 hours the battery charger turned green and the battery was back to normal. THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH COLD WEATHER! Your service people gave me a printout showing that they had checked the battery. The manager found nothing on the computer that they did check it!! It is your obligation to keep the car running and you failed!

I've been with Toyota for 25 years and batteries are now considered "self-contained". With the exception of a load test, there is no other check involved. People were not ignoring you, but instead were trying to close out paperwork for other waiting customers. I apologize if you thought they were rude-they were overwhelmed. Thank you for your time. As I said, 2 of them had no customers and I did not see any other customers exiting as I entered. Those 2 did not appear to be doing paperwork. Yes, they were rude. But the improperly-worn mask of the staff person who gave me my paperwork when my vehicle was done was the most worrisome problem. The dealer should be buying high-quality masks for your staff and insisting that they wear them properly,.

We have addressed the mask issue with the employee at fault. All employees have been provided with quality masks, as we also keep a supply of surgical disposable masks on hand as well. Believe it or not, we still have guests entering our store without masks. I am sorry that you perceived the service department as rude. There is a lot more going on than you realize. We can't call customers out from the waiting area until their paperwork is finished and they are ready to leave due to restrictions of people in the write-up area. We are doing the very best we can given the restrictions in place at this time.

Mr. Hare, Thank you for reaching out. With Covid still a major factor in how we do business, it can be confusing checking in and I apologize for that. With regards to the lost wheel covers, I suspect your vehicle may be older. With many removals (as required to rotate the tires) the rings that hold the wheel cover in place weaken and/or break which causes the wheel cover to loosen and fall off.
