I am sorry to read about the issues you'd experienced with your truck at the recent visit to us. In researching, I was informed that you'd stopped in one day and spoke with our Service Manager about the concern with your axle. The axle and the axle boot were ordered at that time, but, unfortunately, the axle was on back order. We did place a number of phone calls to alert you of that. It appears that your 3:30 pm appointment to bring the truck in was made by our off site call center and the wording listed on the appointment was that you had a noise concern. Luckily we still had the axle, but at that hour of the day, there was not nearly enough time to do the work listed on your paperwork by close of business. Price quotes given typically do not include sales tax or disposal fees, I am guessing that is the difference in price. You also mentioned a tire had gone flat and I was told that all tires were leaking due to sand in the valve cores - this had been noticed, I'm told, by the technician when the tires were rotated during your 30,000 mile service. I am glad that the shuttle driver was available to bring you to the hotel and pick you up again. He is an on call driver, so he is not always available right away. If you had spoken with someone at the dealership, I can't imagine that they would not have called the driver, but if it had been a call center agent you'd spoken with that would explain the delay. Marlaine, I stopped by in January and was told that the axle needed to be replaced but was on back order. I never received communication of ANY sort that it was back in stock. Not sure who your team was calling, but it wasn’t me. I stopped by in late June to check on it (because no one could give me an answer whenever I would call) and was told that it was back in stock. By then, it was impossible to get SSA Reservations for a vehicle until the fall. I checked with someone in Service and someone else in Parts before I made the 3:00 appointment to make sure that the axle was still in stock and would be in stock for my appointment. When I came in, I explained that the axle was the priority, not the service nor the inspection. Those were to be done only if there was time. But the technician did not start on the axle so I had to find somewhere to spend the night in Hyannis. The flat tire just takes the cake. Per the shop notes, Brian states, “Valve stem core leaking…. Suspect customer deflates tires for offroading by taking out [valve stem] cores….” Who deflates tires by removing valve stem cores?!? There was no mention of sand being in the cores. If the tech had discovered it, why wasn’t it fixed when the tires were rotated?!? Why was the tire low when I left? If the tire had just been removed, why wouldn’t it come off the very next morning? Those tires simply were not rotated. Please see my Google review for more details with pictures.
