My 2013 Highlander was in to replace a ‘door check’. That went fine. The service advisor told me the car needed a new serpentine belt, that the existing belt was an aftermarket part and it was cracked a That went fine. The service advisor told me the car needed a new serpentine belt, that the existing belt was an aftermarket part and it was cracked and worn. I told him to replace the belt. BUT, I also said that ALL maintenance on that car was done at Ira. If it has an aftermarket belt, IRA INSTALLED IT. Sure enough, the advisor confirmed the belt was changed 3 years ago (28,840 miles on the belt) at this Toyota dealer. That it was NOT a Toyota part; it was an aftermarket part. He said that sometimes they run out of Toyota parts and will install aftermarket parts. I BRING MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO MAKE SURE THEY INSTALL OEM PARTS. IF THEY’RE OUT OF STOCK ON A PART I WOULD EITHER LEAVE THE CAR UNTIL THEY GET IT OR COME BACK. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THE BELT THEY PUT IN WAS AFTERMARKET, NOT OEM. They have commercials telling people to use their service because you get “GENUINE TOYOTA PARTS. KEEP YOUR TOYOTA A TOYOTA”. Now, after 3 years, the belt needs replacing…..$260.56. THE LAST BELT WAS ORIGINAL AND LASTED 116,260 MILES. SO YESTERDAY I PAID $260 TO REPLACE AN AFTERMARKET SERPENTINE BELT INSTALLED BY IRA TOYOTA FOR A PART THAT SHOULD HAVE LASTED 100,000 MILES. IRA TOYOTA SHOULD COVER THE COST OF THAT BELT REPLACEMENT. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK ON OEM TOYOTA BELTS. YESTERDAY I PAID FOR THE SAME REPAIR BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED A CHEAP BELT. For me, it's been a very bad experience. I've taken my car to have the oil and filter changed on several occasions. They take three hours and then don't change the oil, but they do charge for the service plan. Everyone knows how much they use their vehicle, and if I want to do it every 5,000 miles, the dealer shouldn't make the decision for me and want to do it every 10,000. More
My first experience at Ira Toyota was in April. I actually want to rate that 5 stars! Anthony T was our sales consultant and he couldn't have been more considerate, kind and helpful!! I will recomm I actually want to rate that 5 stars! Anthony T was our sales consultant and he couldn't have been more considerate, kind and helpful!! I will recommend him any time!! On the other hand, my experience with service yesterday was the most MISERABLE experience I think I have ever had! If I could give it NEGATIVE stars I would!! I made an 2:20 appointment. The first employee I interacted with after I pulled in said he needed to do a tire inspection and then my consultant would be right with me. After waiting 20 minutes in my car I went to ask another employee for help. He said wait by the car and he would figure it out. The excuse I got for the delay was the consultant was busy helping someone at his desk. His name was Angel in Service. When he finally came out, he did apologize, and then he went back to his desk for a moment, then came back and told me to go wait at his desk. Again, he apologized and said that no one ever told him I was waiting for him. He asked me why I was there, I said 45,000 service. He then told me oil change and tire rotation were part of the maintenance package, but I need also due for oil too off, oil flush and new filters. When I asked him why, he said "Yeah, when we sell you the car, it has just enough fluids to be able to pass inspection." WHAT?? That should've been my first red flag. Then he looked up what the cost would be for all of that to the tune of $800!!! WHAT?? Of course I realize I could have said no, but I didn't want to void the warranty. I honestly have no idea, and in hindsight I feel I was being taken for a fool. And I just assumed it needed to be done and he would be honest and not sell me a service I didn't need. I was again going off my amazing experience with Anthony T. in sales. I told him I would wait for it to be done and he told me it would be about 2 hours. And he could get me a ride, either home or to the mall if I wanted. I could have gotten a ride home, but I figured I could suck it up and deal for two hours. THREE HOURS LATER, he saw me sitting in the waiting room and said it should be almost done. At about 6:20, that was the final straw. I was done! Tired and frustrated, I walked up to Angel's desk and THAT'S when all of a sudden my car was ready. Really???? xxx!! Then, he has the nerve to say to me, "were you the last one in the waiting room?" My reply "Um, Yup, since I have been here for FOUR hours!!!". His response was, "yeah, sorry about that. I did offer to give you a ride, but sometimes it's easier to wait." So, NOPE, NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! I will never go back to have my car serviced there. I don't care if I pre paid for oil changes and tire rotations. I will take it to me honest mechanic and give him my business! It's the first and last time Toyota is going to screw me! More

Not for service anyway. It was almost a 3 hour wait for an oil change with an appointment. If you don't have staff don't book like you do. Staff and tech was great.
