I'm rating this experience as average because I've purchased/leased several other cars and never had the level of disorganization this process entailed. Although my initial experience of seeing the car, driving the car, discussing the features of the car was positive, at the signing there were many moments of waiting for I don't know what. I arrived at 4:00 and did not leave until 8:30 by which time, I was exhausted. There were some last minute "add-ons" which I was not prepared for, despite asking if I could read and respond the next day (no) so I signed for the minimum. My agent, (Brett) had to leave at 6:00 so he was not helpful at that point. I had made it clear that I needed the car by Saturday (it was Wednesday) since I was going out of town for the week. When I called on Friday, I only got voicemail all day until 4:30 when I was told by Brett, the car would not be ready until Monday at the earliest!! I was pretty upset since they had had three days to get the paperwork organized and the fact that no one else could fax a document over to the insurance company in two days so that it could be registered was ridiculous. So I had no choice but to leave town and arrange to pick up the car a week later. I didn't feel like I understood all of the mechanics of the Eye Sight and Lane Assist technology (still not sure) but I just wanted to get out and go home. I will return for service, but I'll try to see what other choices I have (other Subaru dealers). More

Kimberly Hughes was a saving grace and directed me to a very open and kind Scott Coughlin. They did back flips to help me. I finalized with the finance manager, Ryan Beattie... and have had my faith restored with the efforts they went to to allow my dream to come true. When you are kicked in the gut from cancer 3x it’s hard to get up. No one wants to do business with someone trying to get out of a hole. They did! I had a gentle and compassionate experience and highly recommend Ira Subaru in Danvers/Peabody, MA. Thank you so much... no more 20 year old car... Hello reliable and fantastic Crosstrek!! More

Scammers I hate going to Ira Subaru Of Danvers, Stay far away from this dealership! I Purchased a brand new Subaru back in 2015, I left $1000 cash deposit, aft I hate going to Ira Subaru Of Danvers, Stay far away from this dealership! I Purchased a brand new Subaru back in 2015, I left $1000 cash deposit, after final paperwork was completed, I drove my new car home and then looked at paperwork again, the $1000 deposit was not credited/deducted to the purchase price. I had to call and fight for my deposit back, this took almost a month to resolve. Also, with this car I purchased their extended warrantee, which provides me warrantee repairs w/ zero deductible, every time, every car purchased over the years, I have to fight w/ advisors that #1 I have an extended warrantee and #2 I have zero deductible! I can see that I have the extended warrantee on your computer when they're writing up the work invoice!! I point this out to the advisor and they say...you have better eyes than me! not to mention that the car is still under manufacture's warrantee to begin with. This warrantee fight happens w/ every car I have purchased, I know it's my fault, it's my 5th Subaru so I know it's all on me for my continued stupidity for always purchasing a car at Ira Subaru of Danvers! While bringing in the car in for warrantee issues, I also took my other Subaru in for a quick look at, steering was becoming a problem, they had the car for almost 5 hours when they called me to let me know it needed a new drive belt w/ pulley for roughly $300 because belt was cracked but that wasn't the real issue, they also claimed that the transmission lines were leaking all over undercarriage and needed immediate attention at the price of $531 also head gaskets were leaking and also needed attention at the price of $1744. Stupid me almost had all the work done when the advisor claimed that if I didn't at least repair the leaky transmission lines that every time I braked I would be spurting transmission fluid onto the cars behind me and ruining everyone's paint job! What? HUH? Then I remembered that this car was in an accident a couple of months ago and the frontend was badly damaged, I just got whole frontend repaired, surely they would have noticed the leaking transmission, right? Plus my garage doesn't have any transmission fluid or any fluid on the floor, right then I said never mind, I will just junk the car or trade in for something else it's just not worth the money to repair, the advisor kept saying it will be a darn shame for you to bring your car in for a trade in and the transmission dies on you for not repairing, I said I will just have to take that risk. I then took the car over to another dealership to get trade in value, told new dealership what I was told, it had leaky transmission, they appraised the car, told me thank you for being honest w/ accident, etc and gave me a price and then said btw the transmission is not leaking, What? Huh? It isn't??? so then I took this "non-leaky transmission" to a mechanic in my neighborhood, left the car w/ him showing him the text of repairs needed from Ira Subaru Advisor, he called me an hour later stating I owe him $65.81 for a new drive belt, transmission dry as a bone, nothing loose nothing leaking and even tho Subaru is known for always having leaky head gaskets alas this car had no leaks anywhere. Every time I go for anything, sometimes just for an oil change, they tell me I need new tires, really, those tires only have 5K miles on them, you need a new air cabin filter, even show me a picture of a nasty cabin filter, really??? I just replaced that filter last week myself did it really get that dirty in a week sitting in my garage, you need new wipers, that's funny I just replaced those when I replaced the air cabin filter. I really don't understand why there's not some sort of expose on this dealership and their dirty dealings. I wasn't even going to post a review, I was just going to stop using Ira Subaru of Danvers but they just pulled the same crap on my mother-in law but sadly she ended up paying for these fake repairs and all she needed them to do was check the defrost (which she claims still isn't fixed) and ended up w/ new tires, new wipers, new air cabin filter, new brakes and she only has 20K miles. However, I do know that I will not be buying my sixth Subaru at Ira Subaru of Danvers and I just gave my mother-in-law the card for my new neighborhood mechanic. More
Great experience for this tough customer Car shopping is admittedly not my favorite activity - I get attached to my old car and the way everything is set up that I can't help but compare. And Car shopping is admittedly not my favorite activity - I get attached to my old car and the way everything is set up that I can't help but compare. And as a woman, I am hesitant to open up about what I want because of the horror stories we are told about being taken advantage of when buying a car. That said, I'm clearly a tough customer. They did a great job of making me feel comfortable and answering any questions I had. The money end of things can also be a bit scary, but Ryan was great at figuring out what would work best for my financial situation. In the end, I feel as if I got what I wanted for a fair price. I was greeted promptly at the door and despite not having an appointment I was helped immediately by Richard Neckers. We talked for a bit about what I was looking for and then went on a test drive in the car that I had my eye on after seeing it online. This is where Rich really shined has a sales person. I've been on a lot of test drives and I usually don't really enjoy them...they are usually frustratingly short and filled with the constant chatter of an overly enthusiastic sales person talking about this feature or that, presuming that the sale is a done deal, all the while trying to be your best bud. Rich was quite the opposite. He just let me drive and ask questions! The way it should be! When it came time to negotiate we came to an agreement quickly. The price of the new car was more than fair in my mind (less than what truecar.com said was a fair price). When it came to my trade, the appraisal had come in less than what I had been offered at another dealer. So Rich took my counter offer to his manager and they agreed to match the higher price! The usual paper work followed and the next day I went back and my new car was all cleaned up and ready for me to drive home. I honestly couldn't have expected it to go any smoother than it did. In summary, I would recommend Ira Subaru and Rich to anyone in the market for a new vehicle. Rich's low pressure approach and Ira's up front pricing online are the two main reasons why I will return myself. More
Finance Mgr notcancelling GAP Ins. and Not refunding payment Hi, I purchased a Subaru Outback 2018 model car and a Gap Insurance policy for the car from Ira Subaru in July, 2018. Sales Agent - Kimberly Hugh Hi, I purchased a Subaru Outback 2018 model car and a Gap Insurance policy for the car from Ira Subaru in July, 2018. Sales Agent - Kimberly Hughes. I have made numerous phone calls and send emails to the dealership to cancel my Gap Insurance coverage and refund my payment. However, It’s been two months, the dealership is not cancelling my policy. The sales agent confirmed a month ago that she has forwarded my documents and other details to Finance Manager/Director for cancellation. I am following up with her regarding any update on the cancellation but she is not responding to my emails. I called the Gap Insurance company to cancel the coverage myself however they told me that since it is purchased from the dealership, only dealership can request cancellation for the policy and they have not received any cancellation request from the dealership so far. It’s turning out to be worst experience. More

It was not encouraging and because the manager did not agree with my counter offer because of that I had to leave the dealership. I was contacted by the salesperson the next day informing me that they accepted my offer. When I went back, I felt a change in the salesperson’s tone & treatment which was better than the first day. After reaching to an agreement regarding the price, I had to wait over one hour until I was able to meet with the Financial Manager (FM) who was the only (FM) on duty that afternoon. I and my wife’s experience with the financial manager, whose name was Juan, was not pleasant as he was hostile, aggressive, rude and unprofessional. He did not care about our purchase nor did he care about the $31,000 deal we made with IRA Subaru Danvers & all he cared about was to impose on us and force us to buy the warranty and to deal only with higher interest rate bank. He appeared more like a bully and he was condescending. Since we did not purchase the warranty, nor did we use the dealership’s bank, the Financial Manager was more hostile and having an attitude. As a retaliation, the Financial Manager (FM) delayed sending the correspondent documents to the bank where we borrowed the loan from because we have been getting emails from our bank, Bank of America, asking us to fax them those documents which was supposed to be faxed by Juan, the financial manager. We ended up doing what was a sole duty of IRA Subaru Danvers’ Financial Manager. It is worth of mentioning that IRA Subaru Danvers Charges $495.00 Documentation Fee. The salesperson who wasn’t quite friendly on the first day. But he was more reasonable the next day. He was nice enough to deliver the vehicle to my house. But 2 days later when I called him and left a message for him to follow up on the documents which was supposed to be faxed to my bank by the Financial Manager (FM). But he never returned my call. I am currently consulting a lawyer to what my options are, especially regarding the way the I was treated by the Financial Manager & his retaliation. While I had a nice experience with the floor manager whose name is Manny, I am not sure if I recommend anyone to go there because of the way the financial manager was treating us. More
