I have researched this matter and have received a formal retraction of the advertisement placed in error by the Seattle Times. This retraction is available to be faxed or emailed to any concerned party (it cannot be uploaded into this form). We worked extensively with Mr. Hudson and got as close as we possibly could to the wrongly advertised price. The advertised price would have resulted in a net loss of approximately $4900 to our dealership, but we were still willing to lose a considerable amount to ensure his complete satisfaction. We are very proud of our excellent customer service record, and regret this incident very much. We are proud of our team - they work hard, and they do so with integrity. Errors and omissions do occur, and that is what happened in this case. The Sales Manager who prepared this ad missed an error during the proofing process - this was in no way deliberate, nor an attempt to "bait and switch". This was human error, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused to Mr. Hudson. I would be happy to discuss this matter further, with any concerned party. My telephone number is 425-821-6611, extension 106. I would be very happy to personally guide Mr. Hudson through our sales process and ensure that he receives the best possible price, and VIP service. Amy Walen, Controller

I have provided Mr. Hudson with a copy of the retraction notice we received from the Seattle Times. We work diligently to ensure that our advertisements are correct, but there was a clerical error in this ad, which listed the price as that of a lesser equipped model. We offered Mr. Hudson our previously advertised price on a simiarly equipped vehicle, which was still a significant loss for us, in order to ensure his satisfaction with our dealership. Mr. Hudson informed us that short of honoring the erroneous advertised price, which would have resulted in several thousand dollars in loss for us, he could not be satisfied. We regret the inconvenience caused to Mr. Hudson, and have redoubled our efforts to ensure that our ads are free of errors. Amy Walen

I know that Seattle Times DOES NOT write the advertisements for Ford of Kirkland. There is an employee devoted to writing advertisements for the store. Of course Seattle Times will do Ford of Kirkland a favor by writing a retraction to avoid legal repercussions, FOK spends many thousands of dollars every month doing business with them. How is it Seattle Times' fault that Ford of Kirkland wrote in the advertisement "$7,000 off ALL 2010 SUPER DUTY'S INLUDING F250's 350's and EVEN 450's...." It sure isn't the Seattle Times fault.
