I brought my 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD in for recall work and diagnosis of two concerns: a grinding/chattering noise during turns and a persistent knocking noise from the rear over bumps and unev recall work and diagnosis of two concerns: a grinding/chattering noise during turns and a persistent knocking noise from the rear over bumps and uneven roads. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was disappointing from the start. During check-in, I attempted to share information from a mobile mechanic and was told by Terry, "I don't care what the mobile mechanic said." I fully understand the dealership must perform its own diagnosis, but the way this was communicated felt dismissive and unprofessional. I was also repeatedly reminded that I could not wait for the vehicle because "we close the doors at 6," even after I had already acknowledged that the vehicle needed to stay. At one point, Terry even began discussing trading my vehicle for something newer or with lower mileage. Since I was there for service, not sales, I found that conversation out of place. After several days, I was notified that my vehicle was ready for pickup. I left work to pick it up, only to be told that the paperwork was not ready. After waiting approximately 40 minutes, the same employee who had originally asked me to wait admitted that she had forgotten to tell Terry that I was there. A few minutes later, the paperwork appeared. I was charged over $130 and received conflicting explanations regarding the charge. The vehicle received a 4WD software update, and I was told the technician had verified the issue was resolved. However, within minutes of leaving the dealership, I was able to reproduce the same grinding/chattering and knocking noises that I originally brought the vehicle in for. I immediately returned to the dealership and was told by Terry that he had already clocked out and that I would need to work with Will going forward. Unlike my experience with Terry, Will took the time to listen to my concerns. Although he advised me to return on Monday rather than taking the vehicle back for immediate inspection, I appreciated that he listened respectfully and discussed possible next steps. My issue is not that diagnosis takes time. My issue is the lack of communication, conflicting information, and poor customer service throughout this visit. For comparison, I previously worked with Houston Crist at this dealership and had an excellent experience, which makes this visit even more disappointing. Ultimately, I decided not to spend more time and energy with Hyundai of Columbia and took my business to Hyundai of Cool Springs, where I eventually purchased a new vehicle. More

I recently visited Hyundai of Columbia, where I was offered a 2026 Hyundai Elantra. However, I feel that some important information was left out of the initial discussion regarding my financing. After having the vehicle for approximately one month, I received a call informing me that the bank had rejected the financing agreement and that I would either need to provide a cosigner or return the vehicle. I was very disappointed by this situation because, had I been told from the beginning that a cosigner might be required, I would not have agreed to move forward with the purchase under those circumstances.I also do not understand why I was permitted to leave the dealership with the vehicle if the financing had not been fully approved or finalized. This situation has placed both me and my daughter in a very difficult position and has caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and inconvenience.I understand that financing decisions ultimately involve the lender, but I believe the dealership has a responsibility to clearly communicate the status and conditions of a financing agreement before allowing a customer to take possession of a vehicle. Overall, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth regarding the way the transaction was handled.AJ and Marcus were kind to me personally, but the circumstances surrounding the financing have made me question the dealership’s business practices and customer communication. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change and recall service after the service manager, Travis, assured me over the phone that the work would take approximately one hour. At 1:29 PM, I received a text message recommending several critical repairs, which I declined due to time constraints. When I checked on the status of my vehicle at 2:40 PM, the service advisor informed me it would not be ready until around 4:00 PM. When I expressed that a three-hour wait was unacceptable based on Travis’s original estimate, I was directed to speak with him directly. Travis denied ever quoting a one-hour timeframe, claiming he never provides that estimate to anyone. However, I am certain of what I was told. He mentioned that all customer calls are recorded; I strongly encourage management to review the recording to verify our conversation. It is deeply disappointing that the poor customer service and miscommunication at this dealership reflect so negatively on an otherwise exceptional brand. More
