Came in to check on my dead radio/lcd screen on my 2014 GL450. Paid $280 for full diagnostic which took 2 days so had to leave my vehicle there. Was told that my Command Center unit is faulty and would cos GL450. Paid $280 for full diagnostic which took 2 days so had to leave my vehicle there. Was told that my Command Center unit is faulty and would cost almost $5700 to have it replaced. And even if the unit is replaced, they said they can't guarantee that the LCD screen would work and could cost even more to replace that. $5.7k is probably 1/2 of what the car is worth so makes no sense for me to have it done just for some music. I saw some used unit on eBay for $300-400 but need to have it reprogram by the dealer due to the Anti-Theft Protection on these things. Called them and ask how much they'd charge to reprogram and they said they won't do it if the part didn't come from them. I don't expect cheap services on a Benz but unless you're willing to give this dealer an arm and a leg, you're left in the cold. The service rep was nice but that didn't really resolve my issue. So I drove to the dealership only to find out the spoiler was not ready and it needed to be painted. I will not be recommending House of Imports Buena Park to my relatives or friends. More
