Would avoid the service department at all costs. Took my Buick here because I’ve had to buy 5 batteries in four years for this car and these people are supposed to be the experts. Was told there’s nothing wrong with my car, battery just tested bad. But it’s my fault because I don’t drive my car enough- my car is driven each day. But not enough miles, according to the service manager. I did my research including going to the battery manufacturer’s website which states the car only needs to be idled for 5 minutes per WEEK to maintain a charge. Service manager keeps repeating that I don’t drive the car enough- they’ve spoken to GM energizers regarding this issue. Okay, how many miles per year do I need to drive the car then according to GM? “Well, they don’t give us an exact number.” So I’m not driving my car enough (supposedly) but you can’t tell me how much I should be driving it? Got it. It was one excuse after another which ultimately ended with service manager telling me “it could be something our diagnostics isn’t picking up. You’re welcome to take it somewhere else and get a second opinion. I guess you just gotta decide whether you wanna keep the car or not.” This took the cake. The service manager actually said this to my face. I guess they have no integrity or pride in their work and clearly did not intend to find what’s actually wrong with my car. Still at square one. I purchased a vehicle that came with wheel locks on it but there wasn’t a key to the wheel locks in the vehicle. I called the service department and they got me in the next day and took the wheel locks of but there wasn’t a key to the wheel locks in the vehicle. Purchased a 2018 Audi A5 with a trade in this past Tuesday. I can truly say this was the top dealership so far on my list with the absolute best customer service experience I ever had. I've owned 15 different cars all from different dealerships within a 15 year time frame. I'm very aware of games some sales representatives will play in order to get you into ANY car from their lot... most if not all are very "pushy" when it comes to a sale. Long story short I was interested in three cars before I showed up to my appointment. My sales representative was Sean who I definitely recommend hands down if you decide to purchase a vehicle from Honolulu GMC. I told him I was interested in three vehicles and if he could get me into my top choice that would be amazing. In my mind I thought getting into that ride was going to be a long shot due to my trade in with negative equity and mediocre credit. He let me test drive the Audi and proceeded with the paperwork to see what the numbers would be. I waited and got the final numbers with my trade in and all I can say is the monthly was cheaper than what I was paying, got me into the car I wanted, not once was pushy, and never persuaded me to purchase the vehicle. The decision was all on me, this was the first time a sales rep didn't try and push me to sign. The financing rep Theresa was amazing, she didn't tack on extra services to raise my monthly payments. She in fact got my additional warranty on my vehicle through Ally without even having to raise my monthly payments. The signing process was smooth, quick and easy. I can say nothing but positive remarks about this dealership. Thank you again Sean and Theresa for the amazing experience. This is how everyone should experience when purchasing a vehicle!
