Great Experience! We were looking for a car for our son. This would be his first car. We went to 3 dealerships. The first was a dealership in Milford. The second a dealership in Milford as well and lastly Honda of Westport. I was very turned off by the salesperson at the first dealership. I went in with very specific requirements. Price point, lease amount, and the amount we were thinking of putting down. I wanted a range of cars and or suggestions. It was like pulling teeth! He would not give me any numbers, not even a ballpark unless we sat down and ran the credit. I kept telling him not to worry about that just give me a safe range so we could narrow down our choices. Anyway, it was not possible according to him. I told my son that was not a good salesperson because he was not listening to anything I was saying. I did not want to be pressured and that's how I felt. The second dealership was a little better. The salesperson was quick to give me one car in the range I wanted. It did seem he was not that interested in selling a car once I told him the range. Then we went to see Darlene Miller at Honda of Westport. We walked in, sat down and I said exactly the same thing. She was extremely knowledgeable, kind, gave me options and suggestions I had not thought of and made me feel very comfortable. While she was checking on something I looked at my son and said: “now do you see the difference between a good salesperson who listens and the other places we went?" So two things happened that day. My son bought his very first car and loves it and I finally got him to totally agree with me on something! I would also like to say that Darlene went out of her way to make sure she had all paperwork in hand from us to help speed up the process BEFORE we came in to sign the papers!
