Worst car buying experience ever and shady financing practices. They’re nice but after you make the sale they ghost you! When we sat down with the finance department they weren’t clear on anything so we walked out really not knowing what we were paying for. We spoke about how our previous vehicle loan was written and how Columbia Honda cut us a check for the taxes so we could transfer the title into our name with no problems and he told us don’t worry he’ll take care of it. So we took him at his word. If he would have told me no, that would have been a deal breaker and we would have walked out. Still waiting on them to take care of that. I haven’t been able to get anyone on the phone. Also they were so eager to make the sale they told us to take the car home and bring it back in the next day with out the proper paperwork. Also the car was filthy and to bring it back and they would get it detailed. So I did that and ugh, the car still had gook in between the seats and was still dirty. Also the weather mats that came with the car were gone. I had to go back and they didn’t give me the right ones back. Also I had to pay an extra 150 dollars to get the car detailed right. I Looked up the price for the right Mats that were in the car when I purchased it and it’s gonna cost me almost 300 to replace. Then 2nd day of having the vehicle it wasn’t running correctly! Avoid the head ache and go somewhere els. Complete nightmare. If I could give a lower rating I would. Bought the car on 11/16/2022 and still can’t get anyone on the dang phone. Even texted Levi the sales guy and no response. As a consumer and costumer I can only do so much. I’m trying to give them a chance to fix this but my patience is growing thin. Will give an update soon. More

They d Purchased a vehicle from this dealership on 8/8/22. Throughout the course of three months they have failed to provide quality consumer care. They do not return phone calls or voicemails, their staff is hard to reach in general. They sell vehicles off the lot before the require paperwork is filed in order for the consumer to pay sale tax and acquire plates. Timeline of events: 1.) 8/8/22- Purchased vehicle 2.) 9/12/22- Called Dealership to inquire about paperwork needed to pay sales tax for vehicle- left a voice mail with finance, NO callback. 3.) 9/13/22- Contacted Finance manager, Taylor. Informed me they were waiting for IDOD paperwork, and his title lady ́would keep in contact with me all week to give update on paperwork's whereabouts. I did not receive one single email or call from said title paperwork agent all week. 4.). 9/20/22 -Called Dealership again - Front Desk receptionist said no one was available. Left voicemail with salesman who sold vehicle to me. - NO response 5.) Reached out to dealership on 9/21/22 mid-day and spoke to Steve Rennells (Sales Manager) - informed him that if he didn't figure out what's going on, that we would pursue legal council. 6.) 9/21/22 evening- Steve phoned me, said that they needed ME to take this vehicle to get the IDOD inspection done because they could no longer perform it since car was in my care. So, they never had the proper paperwork done on the vehicle before they even sold me this car. -He overnighted me a check via UPS for the sales tax & $12.00 to cover the cost of the IDOD inspection. He also sent Dealership plates to put on my vehicle for the time being (currently still on my vehicle by the way). 7.) 9/22-took vehicle to receive IDOD inspection. Put paperwork and receipt of inspection in UPS overnight envelope provided by Dealership back in mail. 8.) 10/17- Calls Dealership to ask about paperwork, Steve states that the dealership is waiting to receive a dealer's title from Dept. of Motor & Transportation. 9.) 10/19/22- I called The Dept of Motor and Transportation, Spoke with a reprehensive named Matt. He informed me that the paperwork went out in the mail to the dealership on 10/17. 10). 11/9/22- Calls Dealership to inquire where paperwork is. Received Steve's voicemail, left voicemail. -No callback was received. I have already filed with the Missouri Generals Attorney's Office and will be contacting an attorney next week if Honda of Jefferson City doesn't make this right. This entire process has been a nightmare! Stay Clear! They are nice and attentive when you're buying the vehicle, but once they've made the sale they ghost you and give open ended answers to avoid personal liability. No dealership should be permitted to sell a vehicle to a consumer without first acquiring the necessary title documents in order for the vehicle to acquire plates and the sales taxes to be paid. Shady! More
If I could rate this lower, I would. My experience with Honda of Jefferson City was to say the least horrible. Other than the fact that I did meet a good salesman named Roger Mackey. I My experience with Honda of Jefferson City was to say the least horrible. Other than the fact that I did meet a good salesman named Roger Mackey. I have gone through several salesman in my search for a small SUV,, with a hatch release on the fob. There is a salesman named Chris and a sales manager name Joshua Dowing who insisted in getting me in a HRV hatchback. The problem was there was no hatch release on the fob, And I told the in the beginning that was a requirement & it would not work any other way, Their solution was to get a piece of string or a piece a picture hanging wire and put it on either side of the hatch so that I could reach and pull it down to shut it. I asked them what would happen when it broke the hatch, because that much wear and tear will eventually cause it break. They told me I would be on my own to get it fixed. I came in there one night after work for the sole purpose of putting $500 down for them to hold a car for me. I told them and told them that and I told them several times that I was not buying a car that night that was merely there to give them a check for $500.and leave, As usual they weren’t listening. They Joshua Downing and Chris kept talking up that HRV. Chris went into an office and brought out a finance manager name Mike. I had no idea who he was other than he was also trying to talk me into the HRV. He was telling me things like we could do this so we could do that on your financing I can add this and I can add that. He called me in to his office, we sat there And talked about the HRV. I told him I couldn’t see well, he kept having me to sign papers I kept asking him every single paper I signed “does this affect me getting tied. To a car”over and over and over” he kept saying no. I kept telling him I couldn’t read any of those papers. The print was so small, tell him I had an appointment with my eye doctor, and that I couldn’t read that little print. But he kept going. After about an hour or so I went back to Chris’s desk. I had left my purse and keys on the desk. Thinking it would be safe. I looked into the garage by his desk and he had moved my car, and the car they were pushing and pushing and pushing me to buy into that garage parked next to each other. I asked him why my car was in there? he said I thought you were buying a car tonight. I told him, that I told you when I came in I was not here to purchase a car but merely to put $500 down on a car. I was told later that after I left, Chris Could not understand why I didn’t buy a car that night. Even though that’s what I told him when I got there. That is just one example of the xxxxxx business that was going on during my shopping expierence at Honda in Jefferson City. I did end up getting a CRV. It was ordered and Joshua for some reason waived the $500 deposit. Which was strange to me. I could go on and on about my experience with Honda buying my CRV that’s just a small example. I Could go on but I won’t. The other shenanigans they tried pulling, like. I two was literally BRIBED by By Joshua Downing the sales manager, he told me on several occasions that I would be getting a survey regarding my experience via email and that if I rated everything as a 10 a perfect score & I would bring in my phone and show him that I did he would intern give me a $200 gift card and the $30 from the Rubber check bouncing fee that was due to their error for not giving me time for moving my funds around. I never got that survey e-mail because they had my email address incorrect. I did however go online and do that survey, unfortunately for Honda it was not what Joshua was willing to pay $200 in gift cards for. . I will never never never buy from Jeff City dealers again I have been driving for well over 40+ years, most of the time I was driving the Hondas and I have never never been treated like this. I am a senior a very short person and i Ave a bad heart @ in my books this is financial exploitation. I will be taking my business to St. Louis to Kansas City or anywhere but here. Since this experience I have talked to A lot of people who I’ve also had experiences like mine Dealings with Honda. I will let people know whenever I see them not to be buying a car from Jefferson City Honda. It is just not worth the trouble. I don’t need that kind of stress so buyers before you consider dealing with Honda, check them out check on the BBB, or the AGO’s office or the Dept of Revenue, websites Before dealing with them. I could tell you about the dealings with my car that I had to trade in. But there’s not enough room. Just be very aware BEFORE you think about buying dealing with Honda of Jefferson City. They are just not worth it. It’s a very, very good car, unfortunately the dealership Gives the car a bad name. More
My Salesman was awesome. He was good (Roger McKay). Had his act together. But the money guys sucked. I believe his name was Trevor. We about walked out on him. If it wouldn't have been for Roger I woul his act together. But the money guys sucked. I believe his name was Trevor. We about walked out on him. If it wouldn't have been for Roger I would of. One - never put husband and wife against each other. 2.) If we didn't want a loan don't keep going on and on about taking out a loan. I really wasn't impressed when he tried to convince me I would make money if I took the money and invest it instead of paying for the car. Trevor even pulled up an investment website. He was bound and determined to make me take out the loan. Anyway you can be thankful for Roger. But the Corporate office has not sent me a survey yet. Received other emails from them but no survey. Haven't had any type of service yet. Hopefully I'm happy with them when I do. But you guys can't fix the problem unless you know about it. More

Horrible communication at Honda of Jefferson City. Tried to buy a car from them and negotiated a deal including a trade. Salesman then disappeared off the face of the earth and would not return calls, texts to buy a car from them and negotiated a deal including a trade. Salesman then disappeared off the face of the earth and would not return calls, texts, voice mails, nothing. Finally reached someone at the dealership (I say finally because their phone system hung up on me multiple times) and explained that I really needed to know if I had purchased this vehicle or not. I was pretty sure they had sold it to someone else and lo and behold when the salesman called me back that was what I was told. But graciously offered that I was next in line should that sale fall through. What? I negotiated a deal more than 36 hours ago, offered to make a down payment to hold it, filled out a credit app as requested. So glad you got my private information hope you are competent enough to keep that private and not run a credit check since you weren't capable of selling me a car. In 35 years of buying cars, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. If you have bad news to share with a customer, COMMUNICATE! Ignoring people never makes them happy. Please spend your money with people who actually appreciate your business. Honesty? Integrity? Customer Service? Communication? They might benefit from training in all of these areas. I would advise that you find a Honda dealer in Columbia, Springfield, Kansas City, anywhere except here. I have never left a negative review on a business until today and quite frankly they deserve it. More

Worst car buying experience ever! Highly recommend going anywhere but here. From the salesman Rich to finance all bad. First lied to about several things on the car like it has been detailed, has new tire anywhere but here. From the salesman Rich to finance all bad. First lied to about several things on the car like it has been detailed, has new tires and has cooled seats. Which all are false. Then in the negotiating process we agree on the price of the car and will get the following done to it a detail, full tank of gas and Weather Tec Floor mats through the vehicle. Go into Finance department and they try to sell the extended warranty which I wasn't going to buy anyways. Keep getting told payments will be $380 a month and he would never tell me how much this whole warranty is going to cost as a package. Since he wouldn't tell me I simply asked what will my payments be without the warranty plan. I get told $330, so in my head I do the math and go no way am I getting that expensive warranty. Finally he got the point that we just want to finance the agreed price of the car. Payments end up being $280 so he lied trying to make the warranty half the cost and I will save all that are reading this the math. $6,000 for warranty plan on a $17,000 vehicle. Are you crazy.... Needless to say we leave and take the car we are trading in so they can do the detail and fill it up. Sign papers saying we are doing a test drive in it as this point they own our old car. The wife goes back to pick up the car and has a blown out tire right across the highway from the place. Puts on the spare and drives it in. They see the spare on it and make her pay $60 for them to put a used tire on the car that they made someone else pay a disposal fee on. After an hour dealing with them she finally got to get in the new ride with our two kids. Moves over the car seats and gets in the car and they didn't even detail it nor fill it up. She argues with them on that and they just take advantage of her for being a woman and tell her its out of our control. They can only put so much money in the fuel. Had a 1/4 tank when we looked at the car and when she picked it up they filled it to 1/2 tank. Also try telling her that they did detail it even though it is the exact same as last time we saw it. The floor mats haven't made it in yet at this time which was no big deal as I get to pick them up still. Guessing they won't even be Weather Tec or the front and back. More to come once I get the mats and I get the pictures from the wife to share on how it was not detail at all. Moral of this whole post is if I can save one person from having the same experience I did, this post was worth the time of writing. More

Once again the sales and service departments have hit it out of the park for us. Jerod Miller, our salesman, lined up several 2021 Pilots we requested to see. He met us at the door, greeted us by name and out of the park for us. Jerod Miller, our salesman, lined up several 2021 Pilots we requested to see. He met us at the door, greeted us by name and made us comfortable and welcome. We were trading our 2019 Honda CR-V and were offered a fair value on the trade. That, coupled with our chosen Pilot Special edition SUV, led to a satisfactory deal. Mike Sullivan in the finance department, handled the paperwork and payment and we walked out with a full title on our new vehicle. We wanted to order an accessory and a very nice woman from the Parts/Service Department, knew what we wanted, matched the color with our VIN, and said it would be shipped to us in two days (wish we recalled her name). The service department was also very helpful in answering questions we had about installing the incoming accessory part. All in all, a another great experience with Jefferson City Honda. P.S. The only suggestion we would make is that they turn down the volume in the music piped into the showroom....very loud and interferes with quiet communication. More
