Want to walk into a car dealership to look at a car you saw online, and spend hours there because they are “short-staffed” only to have them try to upcharge you on every last thing? And, you survive that, but as you’re walking out the door, find out that you are missing one of the keys? You’re fine letting the salesman call to get it, but the previous LOCAL OWNER says he “doesn’t have it anymore”? Multiple calls and no headway except they’ll throw in the owner’s manual that was also “missing”. They are fine losing a customer over something as small as a rekey/second key - the basics - providing a buyer with two keys. It’s like a surprise car share, right? I’ll know who potentially has my car if it goes missing. More

I would go anywhere else to buy my next vehicle. I spent almost five hours waiting around at Honda of Libertyville this past week, to buy an almost new car in cash, only to find as the plates were I spent almost five hours waiting around at Honda of Libertyville this past week, to buy an almost new car in cash, only to find as the plates were being put on, that it was missing one of the keys. The salesman assured me he’d call the previous owner - no problem. I got home, and it’s also missing the owner’s manual. The car had been on a lease, with a local owner who simply said he no longer had the key. They’ll make it right, right? The response from one of the Sales Managers? “If you’d had the car certified, we’d get you another key”, and “It’s not a safety issue. It’s not like he can find your car.” Ask yourself - how many strangers potentially have a key to your car? I didn’t need to pay even more to have it certified. However, how much does someone have to pay for service - like being provided two keys when you buy a car - at this dealership? I hear we’ll be mailed the missing owner’s manual though. Fingers crossed. More

Andres was calm, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the car. He patiently answered all of my quirky questions. I didn’t even know how hybrid cars worked, yet here I was, buying one! All I can say is, I’m sold. He was that good. Although we felt a bit disappointed with the price, by the end of the day, we shook hands and closed the deal.
