I was comparing prices of vehicles in the area in 2022, this location had the model/color/year I was interested in. I arrived, test drove with a great sales man Zia and within 30 minutes we agreed on a price with the GM that worked for us all. They originally set the price about $3,000 higher than an offer I had on the same vehicle at a different location. I used that as leverage and we agreed on a similar price. I couldn’t have been happier with Zia and the GM. That’s where the good times ended. The real shark is the finance “professional”. His name is Jimmy Rogers. He was respectful at first but when he tried to sell me an extended warranty, the predatory tactics came out. He originally tried to tell me it was not negotiable and just a part of the process. When I asked a lot of clarifying questions, he refused to engage about the product further and steam-rolled right along trying to get me to sign. I refused to purchase, which irritated him because he makes a good commission on this product. He said there are aspects of the vehicle that are not made by Honda and aren’t covered in the new car warranty that often break. When I asked him why they were selling me a new car that regularly has issues with parts, he tried to back track but it automatically made me lose a lot of trust in him. When I continued to refuse the extended warranty, he escalated stating “Just so you know, the other dealership you leveraged this price off of would have never let you walk out of this office without this product”. Thanks for letting me know, Jimmy. He then went in on the maintenance package. He painted a great picture for that. I had concerns about coverage when moving and he specially old me I could use it at any Honda dealership. Fast forward 2 years later, this is simply a lie. It is a contracted company that only has limited options nationwide and it is NOT covered. You must get service done at Honda Mckinney or the outside companies limited options. I should have looked at the documents closer as I signed this, but this guy is simply using intimidation and unethical business practices to speed the process along to make commissions off you. Jimmy will talk over you, patronize you and lie to you to make the sales. I would recommend not getting any extras from them. Stay strong in your resolve to reject their extra finance offers, especially as a first time buyer or a woman. I’d recommend having a second person present. I also looked at every single document I signed at the dealership and I couldn’t find his name anywhere. It was left blank on the only section it is supposed to be written in print. His signature is illegible, I had to go in to ask who it was so I could finally write this review years later. Avoid. And Honda, teach Jimmy how to treat human beings and ethical business practices. My wife and I came in to lease a vehicle on a friday. Initially, the sales process was smooth and we were able to lease a prologue that same day. I was happy. I then went ahead and got a quote from multiple vendors to try and set up the EV home charger. Their quotes exceeded our budget by thousands and the package you get only gives $500 to use towards that. I tried contacting Eric and other people at the dealership. They took days to respond and when I asked if we could switch the mode in which to charge the leased vehicle. They said it couldn’t be done. How will we charge our vehicle that they leased to us. I guess we have to spend an extra $400 to get a portable charger while the EV charger just sits in the garage. They’re so helpful before the purchase but screw you over once they’ve made the sale. I’m not pleased with Honda of Mckinney. They seem genuine but are not. More
