I don't know where to start. On July 31st, I went to I don't know where to start. On July 31st, I went to this dealership to check out a 2021 VW Atlas SE R-Line. The SUV was on the lot but they could I don't know where to start. On July 31st, I went to this dealership to check out a 2021 VW Atlas SE R-Line. The SUV was on the lot but they couldn't find the keys, so they had me test drive a different Atlas (Not an R-Line). Came back and decided to go on and purchase the R-Line. The total was roughly 47k. I tried to negotiate the price to 45k which I said was my budget. At this point I was working with Danny (Denny Applegarth, so rude and knew nothing about the features the car comes with). He even raised his voice at me at one point saying "Where do you expect me to come with 2k difference? If you can afford this car you should look into lesser trims". The general manager (Steve Knolle) stepped in and preached how about rare the R-Line trim is and how he can sell it to someone else within minutes . But at the end he offered a discount of $750 (Dealer discount 500 and half military (I served under 20 years)). Generous enough for me. I was ready to put pen to paper and after consulting each other for over 10 mins, the general manager comes to me with a window sticker of same trim saying that the car I'm buying from them has been sold to someone else and didn't know that. He asked me to keep the window sticker with a guaranteed price on the paper, that the similar car is on the train, it just left TN and should be here by Thursday (August 5th, if not later). A week passed, ..nothing. I followed up with via email and even telephonically ... he reassured me " you have my word-- the car is reserved for you and it's coming" . Today is August 18th, and still no word from them. After carefully looking into the window sticker he gave me, I realized that the car on it belongs to a different dealership (Ourisman VW of Rockville). I called Ourisman dealership and was told that the car is on their lot right now and that I can come in to check it out. Right away I called Steve with the new info , he goes " It's same trim not the actual car" The next day I went to Rockville and got a wonderful deal on a SEL Premium. Honesty Honesty lack of Honesty from Salesman all the up to the General Manager smh .......Unbelievable More
Today I brought it from a great car dealership.
