I went into the dealership on a Saturday to look for a new Rav4. Ryan showed me all the models available on the lot and encouraged me to take more than one for a test drive. He was very knowledgable and answered all my questions. He offered to hold the vehicle I had chosen over the weekend so I could make sure it was the one for me. When I spoke with him on Monday and told him I still wanted the Rav4 but would need more time to sell my car he was willing to work with me. I finally sold my care and purchased my new Rav4 2 weeks after my initial visit. Ryan was extremely helpful throughout this process and completely changed my view of the "typical" car salesman. Heritage is big operation and it shows. On any given Saturday they can be very busy. I went down there early last Saturday because I saw a car I was interested in at a low price. At 5:30pm I drove out with a vehicle I felt good about because it was a good price for the car. One of the advantages that a big dealership like this has is buying power. Because of that they sell some of the vehicles with fairly deep discounts. The downside is almost all of their staff is swamped and they can afford to lose your business. I worked with Sue Perry who is clearly a caring, kind person. I was happy to work with her because I felt like she saw me as a person and not just a sale. Its a scary thing to buy a car and she was very helpful and stayed with me throughout the long day. Its clear however that Heritage works under a high pressure sales technique and that Sue had been coached to bristle with suggestions of lower prices or added value such as free oil changes or other such dealership based incentives. It was clear to me that this was a dealership-wide sales motto. Some modern dealerships have gone to a low pressure atmosphere and that may be more well-suited for some. As I said, Sue was really very patient with me and found me a car I felt great about. And her manager Jason seemed caring as well. I would encourage Heritage to expand their office and financing for busy Saturday traffic and allow their sales team to be a little less aggressive when a customer negotiates. More

Sue Perry and her Manager Jason were extremely professional, helpful and made him feel very, very comfortable. And Mary in the finance department is one of the best in her field, I've ever, ever met. I went to Heritage to test drive a few cars and try to decide whether or not it was worth getting a new car and letting go of my CR-V which I had driven since I was 16. I was greeted by Landel at the door who wasn't pushy at all. After test driving the Matrix Landel introduced me (and my boyfriend) to everyone who we'd be interacting with if I decided to buy a car there. They were upfront and willing to help me make the decisions necessary without being pushy. When I decided to go with the new car they helped me get the payments to what I could afford and were really willing to work with me. They didn't play lots of games but gave me a fair price. As a first time car buyer I was glad to not have to play games and felt really satisfied with my experience and my new car. I was nervous about buying a new car so when things went as well as they did I was afraid it was too good to be true - but it wasn't. I would definitely recommend Heritage to anyone, especially a first time car buyer who's nervous and afraid of being pushed around. More
They have a customer-oriented approach to everything they do. My experience began with an internet inquiry, which led me to Mr. Ed Larkin. After several messages back and forth, I was able to find a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing. I scheduled an appointment. Ed set me up with a salesperson - Sue Perry. They shared all information between Ed and I. I walked in, was offered a coffee, shown the restroom, and then offered a test drive. I drove it, loved it, and bought it. We were in and out of the dealership in just under 3 hours!! Excellent folks, service, and product. We will go to Heritage first for all our automobile needs. More

Toyota is having a bad time now, but I did a lot of research on the particular car I looked at by asking many questions from other dealers, car friends, reading various reports, watching the news... and in particular asking MS Maggie Knapp questions...... Maggie knew a lot, much I didn't understand, but her training and knowledge was right there to help sway me towards the Toyota.... (I had been looking at Hondas also of similar model...) Maggie re-assured me the Toyota was A-OK, and if you think about it, NO Toyota dealer, especially now,... would dare let a faulty Toyota car be sold... so I felt good in buying this car even with all the dark news...and know the company is doing all it can to make things right for all concerned... I had 2 cars as trade-ins, Ryan gave me wonderful trade-prices for the 2 cars, ( the Honda dealership was not so generous), and Ryan even went further with his generosity and the price in the end made me feel I had really received a good deal... I had to get the 2nd trade-car from far away, so Maggie drove me there, in the rain, brushed off the snow that had accumulated on the 2nd car(in the rain)while I got the 2nd set of keys, and then we both drove back to the dealership in the rain and close to dark... the RT took 3 hours... THAT'S SERVICE and HELP!!!... Maggie even went to the 9th yard in helping me take all the little things from my 2 cars and placing them in the new car at the late hour,after the closing, by then both of us were very tired and hungry...but Maggie was there right to the very very end... I know she got home late, and by the way, this was all on her "day off"... Would I recommend this Dealership to others? ...Absolutely & Completely !!!!... I had never bought a car before by myself, I found the car on the KBB.com , looked at it, didn't want to spend the money, keep looking for another 6 weeks, the car remained at Heritage Toyota,....thought to look again, and with out pressure or snubbing Maggie and Ryan were right there to go forward if it was to be.... They had even gotten another car for me in the 3rd week,that might have been "what I was looking for"... but I didn't want it, so there was reason to not be so "helpful" upon my re-appearance, but there was not even an batting of an eyelash of shunning... Wonderful people, wonderful experience, great car at a great price and I feel taken care of and I am grateful... I hope this report helps MS Maggie and Mr. Ryan in the eyes of the Company,their fellow workers and in their life altogether. It's very hard to buy a car if you don't know what you are doing, and with so many choices...prices, deals, and offers...in the end it's the people's genuineness, who "turns the key" of the buyer. As we all know, 2009 was the year our economy dropped off a cliff. For my wife, my son and I, we were no different. Being self employed and with my wife recovering slowly from a difficult pregnancy, I was left at a cross-roads. Was I to help nerture the family emotionally and with supervision or back to an already slowed down business? It was needless to say a challenging time, nonetheless in retrospec staying home to help my family has brought us closer together than ever before. In the end, like with many hard decisions come hard consequences. My favorite vehicle of all time, was repossed as we, like many others fell behind for reasons out of our control. I can honestly say that I had never felt like a failure, in business or life until the reposession. To me, I had let down my children, wife, dogs and family. I was hard on myself even though if given the same choice today, I would have to chose the same way again. After the reposession my credit fell faster than the stock market in 09'. Plumetting 100's of points. We purchased a beater vehicle and drove her into the ground. My children could never ride with me in this vehicle as there were no adequate saftey features. In Feburary of this year, with the business running in full speed and things looking strong for us financially, we looked at securing a reliable pre-owned vehicle. For us and for many others, a pre-owned vehicle at this impass would acheive two distinct and seemingly equally important goals. We would begin rebuilding our tattered credit well at the same time having a safe, secure and affordable vehicle for our growing family. We went to three dealerships, all turned us down. Two of them were very hurtful and embarrassing to talk with about my situation. The third was at least more respectful but again wasn't able to put anything together for us. The frusteration and embarassment from the reposession rose the surface again. I wanted nothing to do with getting another vehicle, EVER again! I decided I would purchase another used vehicle privately. A friend of mine recently took a job for Heritage Toyota, purchasing and selling vehicles at wholesale auctions. I spoke with him, he already knew about the reposession and my situation. As a good friend said, knowing my goals of buying a house in the next five years and the importance of strong credit, now more than ever before, could not recommend that I purchase a used vehicle with cash. I told him I agreed of the importance but that no one, in their right mind according to the previous three dealerships are going to finance me with a reposession 6 months ago. We debated on what to do for a couple of weeks. Finally I agreed to speak with another sales persons, Jason Queinville of Heritage Toyota. Scott said that Jason "won't sleep until he gets you accurately represented in front of banks." I didn't buy it. Another sales person another pitch and another denial with more frustration, no doubt. Or was it? Walking in I sat down with Jason. He said he was close friends with my friend Scott. Said he was expecting their first baby girl and completely understood my situation and the tough, challenging decisions I was left to make. Then he ask me something no other place had, what type of vehicle do you want? I laughed out loud. I asked him if he did not hear from Scott about the reposession, about the three other denials and the constant slap in the face of not producing a strong, safe vehicle for my family. Jason sits next to a gentlemen named, Ryan who was politely listening in as we discussed. Jason and Ryan said in sync that they would get me in front of the lenders with respect and make sure they understood my situation, who like most of us had been challenged financially in the past year. I didn't buy it. I told Jason that I wanted a recent model Altima if I had my pick of any vehicle. Know what he said? "Altima? You want an Altima? I am having my guy bring it around right now. It's an 05' with low miles, sunroof, easy access car seats and strong saftey features." How much is this going to cost? I can't get approved and what about warranty? "All being taken care of right now, don't worry just test drive your new car." In all honesty I thought he was out of his head. I drove it. It was better than the Nissan I had repossed. It had more power, more features and appeal. I loved the car but as sure as I am breathing knew it wouldn't work out. I sat in the waiting room thinking about how he was going to blame the denial on the banks or on the lenders. Tell me to come back in a year and he could guarantee an approval. I was wrong. Jason asked what my down payment is I could afford and told me not to go higher than what I was comfortable with. Asked me where I needed my payments, again we went over everything. I tried to leave with my wife in our van but he insisted that I take the Altima home as it was virtually mine. The next day he called me and simply said, "Lets sign this thing." I couldn't believe it. What he was saying I, I just didn't buy it. I went down to the dealership. He required a lower down payment and secured an even lower monthly payment then what we had discussed. Sitting in the room about to sign the paper work, I still didn't buy what they were saying, but the car, the car? Yeah, I bought the car! I can't thank them enough! More

I was in a terrible accident a couple of months ago and could not come to the dealership so Landell brought cars to me and the information I needed to make a good choice. Went to Heritage a number of times. Needed a 4WD so was looking at the RAV4. Loved the looks but the ride was a little bumpy. Went in as a Costco customer and was sent to Scott. Took us to Larry Lucier, the sales manager, to get the special Costco price. Larry was arrogant and was ordering Scott to do this and do that. Acted just like Lumberg from Office Space. Made us very uncomfortable. Went back a few times to try the Sport model RAV4. Scott annoyed us when he asked how many times we needed to take the vehicle for a test drive. We loved the looks but didn't like the ride. We finally went to Handy Toyota in St Albans. What a difference! We worked with Mike Boomhower. Very patient. We tried the RAV4 a few times and still felt the ride was too bumpy. Mike was great, very patient unlike the Heritage crew. We came up one Wednesday evening to try another drive. Mike was out and Adam was there. He suggested a new AWD vehicle, the Venza. We drove it and fell in love with it. Pf course, we took it for a few test drives and bought it from Handy. Unlike Heritage, Handy;s staff were always courteous and seemed genuinely concerned about our needs. Avoid the arrogant staff at Heritage, go north to Handy's More
