Bells and Whistles I was in the market for a new car; interested in looking at SUVs. Once I stepped into Heritage Subaru Catonsville, I didn't have to look any further. I was in the market for a new car; interested in looking at SUVs. Once I stepped into Heritage Subaru Catonsville, I didn't have to look any further. I fell in love with the Subaru Forrester! What I really like are all the safety features. Steve Sherman was awesom and continues to be helpful, as well as, the rest of the Subaru team. It was a long day, however, the process went smoothly and I felt excited and confident driving my new car home. Heritage Subaru in Catonsville arranges for a return visit after you have had some time driving the car to answer any questions you may have and to explain features I may not yet be aware of. My appointment is on Friday and am confident that it will be another great experience! More
Heritage...My Subaru Family When I first walked into Heritage Subaru back in 2004 (then Russel Subaru) I was immediately impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the persona When I first walked into Heritage Subaru back in 2004 (then Russel Subaru) I was immediately impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the personal approach of the staff. No persuasive "come on" speeches to manipulate me into a "quick sale." Rather, there was a sincere interest in finding out who I was and what I wanted and then a genuine effort was made to make this happen for me. The first person I sat down with was Steve Sherman, salesman, who sat down with me and took some time to get to know me better before making any suggestions about selecting a car. Steve was, and is, authentic, not phony...a real human being for whom sales seems to be more the art of finding a "good fit" for his customer's needs than it is a mere vocation. I say "was and is" because here in 2017 I've just purchased my 4th Subaru and Steve has been there all along to help me make these upgrades. His dedication to the customer does not end with the sale. Steve is well informed and knowledgeable. He knows his cars as well as his business and to my amazement he has been able to put together affordable purchase packages with excellent service, warranty, and financing plans which Heritage Subaru has always backed up whenever I've needed them. This personal interest in customer care is also evident in the service department. When I come in for an oil change or scheduled maintenance there has always been a friendly staff member (now LeJuan Robinson) who signs me in. At the same time, it's also been good to discover that over the years, whoever sits in that chair, has always looked out for me, which is to say, has always kept an eye on my maintenance schedule and let's me know what I need and what I don't need to do, thus saving me unnecessary expenses. Even the mechanics I've had have shown a personal interest in their customers and a dedication to their work. Before he retired, Bob Hill was my favorite mechanic. The first time I met Bob was when I had taken my 2003 Forester for service because I was hearing an unusual sound when applying my brakes. I was planning to take my sons on a long trip into the mountains the following weekend and was worried about possible brake failure. Back in the garage Bob was unable to locate the problem with just a cursory glance. To my amazement, he came out from the garage and said, "I realize that you are concerned about the safety of your family and I respect that. Get in the car. We're going for a ride." With that we took off with Bob at the wheel. It didn't take long for the mysterious sound to occur and Bob knew immediately what the problem was. Bob solved the problem, our trip was safe, and I had a new friend at Subaru. Every time I saw him after that, he always came out to the waiting room to say hello. He also knew which car was mine and whenever it appeared in the shop he claimed it as his to work on. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't say something about how happy I am with the product itself. The Subaru. I'm 65 years old and began my driving life with Chevrolet, then went to Dodge, and finally Toyota. Nothing really satisfied. Then, Steve introduced me to Subaru and I've been so happy with the performance of these cars I don't think I'll ever buy anything else. I've just upgraded to the 2017 Forester and couldn't be happier. I will admit, Forester's don't look very sexy. But, back in 2010 when we had so much snow my Forester earned my respect and admiration. I live at the top of a hill and coming home I noticed many drivers stuck at the bottom. I drove past them without problem...all the way up the hill...as though I was driving a military grade vehicle. So, for me, performance outweighs style. In conclusion, I drive 30 to 45 minutes across town to get to Heritage Subaru Catonsville. To some this seems unreasonable given there's a Subaru dealer just 4 blocks from my apartment. Once or twice I visited that dealership before and, in all fairness, they were friendly, courteous, and professional. But, I didn't feel the warmth and personal interest that I feel at Heritage. So, I gladly make the drive to Heritage because the staff here treats me as though I'm a member of their own family. Which is why I'm proud to say, "I've made Heritage Subaru Catonsville...My Subaru Family." More
