Unlike my typical experience at a car dealership, this encounter was unexpectedly pleasant. The salesperson, Bruce Curtis is well-suited for this role, and an asset to the dealership. He was pleasant and informed about the model of Mazda we wanted to test ride. There was not any indication of pressure on his part, and he listened to us attentively and addressed our questions and concerns. I told him the basis of how I wished to negotiate the price of the car, and he accepted it. He informed the sales manager, James Jutermohle of my plan and first offer. Mr. Jutermohle showed me all the relevant prices and costs associated with the vehicle, which essentially agreed with the numbers I possessed from reliable independent sources. He then accepted my offer. Mr. Jutermohle was also extremely pleasant to deal with, and even tempered. Both of these people are a valuable asset to this dealership. Ken and the other 2 guys were great to work with. Very friendly & helpful, not pushy at all. When they did the usual "let me run this by my mgr" routine, the answer didn't come back pushy at all. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a better price if I'd worked harder or gone elsewhere (not toally satisfied there), but I have never had a better experience in the process of buying a car. I wanted a Speed 3, but not the models they had - the one I wanted was there for me to check out the very next day. Ken met me in my hometown of North East to transfer the title and extra keys to my trade in. They even took my trade with a busted windshield and gave me my new Speed with a handshake promise to get the windshield fixed by my insurance on their lot - didn't even have a We Owe form they wanted me to sign. The finance guy got me a loan that floored me - my credit isn't that great, and a previous attempt to get a car loan elsewhere got a crappy result. Paperwork was quick with no surprises, and Ken was easily the friendliest and most time generous of any salesman I have ever dealt with. And I have bought/leased A LOT of cars. If only that final price could have been just a little bit sweeter . . . I could have given a true perfect score. More
I purchased a new Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring. I had been looking for quite some time and honestly was quite frustrated with the lack of response from other dealers. Often times when one asks for a quote through the internet you receive a nicely written response that basically asks you to come in but gives you little actual pricing. When I finally came across Heritage of Belair and asked for an internet quote I received a prompt response with actual detailed numbers that I could understand. Ken Arment was outstanding to work with. When the actual vehicle that was quoted had been sold he tracked down what I wanted from another dealer and therefore had a very satisfied customer. I have already recommended Heritage and specifically Ken to friends and co-workers. More

I gave him the exact specifications I wanted for the vehicle and he worked with James Utermohle track down the car. Ken was meticulous about keeping me constantly informed of the process through e-mail updates and phone calls. He even was available to pick my up locally on delivery day. The sales department went the extra mile to ensure I was completely satisfied. Even the finance office was able to get me more competitive financing than I received myself walking into the same bank. Ken and James were great to work with. When I initially came in to look at cars, Ken raced around the lot moving cars in and out so that I was able to test drive the car I was most interested in. I initially contacted James at MileOne Mazda in Bel Air with an interest in a new Mazdaspeed3, being referred over from the Mazda dealership in Owings Mills (they are not a Mazdaspeed dealer.) James was quick to reply and get me some info via e-mail after we spoke on the phone. I did not have a chance to come and drive the car immediately, and James let me know that he or Wil would be glad to bring it to me (I live in the Downtown area, 35 minutes or so away.) Regardless, I had my eye on another vehicle. When that fell through, I returned my focus to my original desire in a car -- Speed3. I contact James and Wil in the evening at the end of the month, and quarter, asking them tons of questions and wanting a lot of info. They took a good deal of time at this busy period and talked with me, as did their used vehicle manager (John, I believe) about my trade in. I ended up arriving at the dealership a few minutes after close on the 31st, last week, and we immediately began to value my trade. After we established a more than adequate value there, James and Wil negotiated very fairly with me to get to the price I wanted. They both stayed until after Midnight with me to get the paperwork done, as did their finance manager. It was late, so I headed out with a semi-cleaned car that needed a few of the accessories that the vehicle came with. Wil and James were vigilant and patient in their dealings with me after they had sold me the car. After a week they had gotten everything together and I came back, got the rest of what they had promised me, and even got a quick detail on the car and a tank of gas for free. In the last few weeks I have been to more than a couple of dealerships, and while other sales people were alright (although very persistent) the folks at MileOne Mazda were great to deal with and extremely nice. As a professional salesperson myself, I was very pleased to find such courtesy and helpful people in an industry known for pushiness. I highly recommend going to see either James or Wil should you be interested in a Mazda. I am far closer to many other Mazda dealers, but I will almost certainly be driving out there for all my service and needs in the future with this car. Excellent job guys, keep up the awesome work!
