I never thought that I would write a great review about a car dealership...until now. Herb Chambers Mini of Boston is quite the dealership. Unlike another Mini dealership, I did not feel pressured at Herb car dealership...until now. Herb Chambers Mini of Boston is quite the dealership. Unlike another Mini dealership, I did not feel pressured at Herb Chambers to make a purchase. Ian (the manager) and Scott (the sales advisor) treated me so well that I left the dealership very satisfied. Also, Ian and Scott were extremely knowledgeable about Mini cars, down to the last details. At Herb Chambers, I never felt sold-to rather I felt these guys genuinely cared about getting me the right car at the right price. To sum it up, THANKS - Herb Chambers Mini, Ian and Scott for making my dream of owning a Mini Countryman a reality...now I just have to wait for it to come in :) More

To start, here is my original email sent to the team we experienced during our time at Herb Chambers MINI in Boston: First off we would like to say thanks for the experience we partook this past weekend. experienced during our time at Herb Chambers MINI in Boston: First off we would like to say thanks for the experience we partook this past weekend. I have selected each of you for this communication as you all played a part in how we feel. I could not locate Brian's email address so please ensure he gets a peek at this note. Kate, of which we never met, was actually the key to this event taking place. So especially to Kate I must say had you not followed up with us during preliminary contact stage then we would have never came to visit. Next comes Brian for his acceptance style greeting us at the elevator on the 3rd floor. Thanks Brian as you left me with originality and not one of "this guy is faking it" style. You are great. Before I forget...the valet person which was exceptional. He left us with security in leaving our vehicle in your hands while we did our shopping. Now is Ian, most professional and straightforward. Pleasure working with you. Next up is Richard, but I'll get back to that shortly. Now up is Scott, although we never officially met, I did run into Scott during the "pay up" stage that takes place on the first floor. Scott went out of his way to assist me with the coffee machine as I did not have my reading glasses. For that I thank you Scott. Kiam, most wonderful time spent with him. Accuracy along with attention to detail left us with comfort during the "pay up" stage. Now back to Richard. As most of our time was spent with him we had the opportunity to get to know him best. Most excellent experience with Richard. Lastly, I thought about sending this on the ride home yesterday of which my doubts approached. I cannot express enough to each of you the significance your parts played throughout all the stages of a vehicle purchase. As I myself know first hand the experience of purchasing from a dealership is not one of "hey I can't wait to do that again"...but after our visit with you I can say most definitely that your team is what some call...the "TOTAL PACKAGE"... So if you haven't heard it today...well I am telling you...you are a most excellent "Total Package" Semper Fidelis Richard J and Estelle A MUCHES I must add an additional comment here...see when you purchase a vehicle it is done in stages...stage one is deciding on your current vehicle...stage two is the process of picking a replacement...stage three is research...stage for is locating a seller...stage four is the visit to the seller...stage five is finding the car at the seller...test driving...financing...and on like that. So the point here is for me as I have purchased about 12 vehicles in my life time, I have never made it through the purchasing a vehicle without some major issue during one of the various stages involved. It's kind of like you make it all the way to stage nine when you are finally sitting with the finance people. You already know your credit score cuz hey that's easy enough to print out online from Equifax...and the finance person says "well your credit doesn't quite put you into our best rate but we can get you 5.9" or "we can't give you this deal unless you buy the extended warranty" or better yet the salesman is one of those demeaning types that talks down to you like your teenager does when you tell them to take out the garbage...So where I am going with this is, my wife and I made it through to the end of all the stages...and I must say with complete satisfaction. It wasn't because of the sales manager, or the receptionist or the price...it was because the entire TEAM we dealt with...9 in all...each one of them played such a pivotal role. One would deem them the "TOTAL PACKAGE" From the valet attendant...most wonderful man...to the greeter off the elevator...completely desirable...So one cannot comprehend satisfaction of the purchasing process until one visit's this dealership...cuz it's not a dealership...its an effort...a tactical strategy put together designed to make you at ease and not lead but merely taken on the journey of the Herb Chambers Mini "TOTAL PACKAGE" Thanks again guys...and when the volvo goes...maybe my bride will see fit to put me in the clubman...the blue and black one on the showroom floor. When she does, I will be there...Good stuff...don't miss it. More
I had a great experience wiht this dealer. Ian Miller was by far the most friendly and easy-to-deal-with salesperson/manager I had ever encountered. No pressure and nothing but helpful. I would highly recom by far the most friendly and easy-to-deal-with salesperson/manager I had ever encountered. No pressure and nothing but helpful. I would highly recommend Herb Chambers Mini in Brookline if you want a delearship that treats you with the respect you deserve and with an approach that I wish every dealership had. More
Luigi was helpful and very eager to demonstrate the outstanding qualities of the countryman, which we ultimately purchased. He was completely familiar with all the vehicle's features and instructed me outstanding qualities of the countryman, which we ultimately purchased. He was completely familiar with all the vehicle's features and instructed me thoroughly on the ins and outs of our new mini. He was very proud and well versed about this car and in fact all of the mini coopers. In fact everyone there seemed really pleased to be selling one of the greatest cars on the road, every feature being unique and exciting, which made the purchase all the more enjoyable. The car was a bit late to arrive and we were given a loaner, a new mini cooper s, which of course made the delay kind of fun. I'd also like to say that Ian, the manager, was very helpful and considerate and our brief but essential interactions enhanced the entire experience. More
Luigi was a refreshing change from the stereotypical sales guy. My husband and I are were weary of being pitched too hard but we were pleasantly surprised by the honesty and approachability of Luigi. We sales guy. My husband and I are were weary of being pitched too hard but we were pleasantly surprised by the honesty and approachability of Luigi. We would not of bought the car if Luigi wasn't so helpful and sincere. He truly made us feel comfortable and we trusted him. He introduced to his Dad - who's a lead mechanic at Herb Chambers. The overall HC experience was wonderful - I was concerned b/c some of the other reviews were negative - but I'm a satisfied customer. Even after the sale Luigi has contacted us, to see how we're doing with our new awesome MINI. I'm not a fancy pants executive buying a Porsche, but was treated as one - thanks to Luigi! More
I came in looking to lease a new MINI and Richard was very helpful. He showed me the differences between the models and answered every question I had; he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to MINIs. W very helpful. He showed me the differences between the models and answered every question I had; he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to MINIs. When it came time to talk numbers and customize my order, he was extremely helpful and worked with me as if I was his only client; he was never in a rush, always understanding of my price range, and went as far as to tell me which features I wouldn't really need or aren't a great value. When it turned out there was a 2011 MINI that met what I wanted, he pushed me toward that, even though he could've sold me on a 2012 for ~$4500 more over the term of my lease. He saved me money, time, energy, and I couldn't be happier with the car I ended up with. My overall experience with Richard Tran at Herb Chambers MINI was a 10/10. For reference, the car I leased was a 2011 Cooper S Clubman. More
Called Herb mini and the sales person on the phone said they have what my wife and I were looking for. Once we got there (same day), we were told they don't have the car that we were looking for but they c they have what my wife and I were looking for. Once we got there (same day), we were told they don't have the car that we were looking for but they can order one for me. Finally, we placed an order and waited for two weeks for the new car arrival. On the delivery day, we've got a call from Herb saying the car is ready and we can come to pick it up after noon time. We arrived at Herb at about 2pm, we were told by a customer service lady that our car is no where to be found. After spending about 30 minutes searching for our car, the sales manager last name Miller finally came out from his meeting and told us that instead shipping the car to Boston Mini, the truck driver delivered to New York Mini. Miller apologized to me and gave us free venture film as the result of their mistake. We waited for another week and finally we received a call from mini again that our car had finally arrived. On arrival at Herb Mini, we saw a mini with the same color with different stripes that parked in front of the dealer on the street. Miller told us that's the one and we said no. I told Miller to go back to the paperwork and again the paperwork clearly prove that they made some mistakes on the stripes/wheels/side mirror covers. We waited for another 4 days before we finally get the car. Drove the car for about 2 months and the car would not start. It happened twice before we decided to bring it back for repair. Mini service adviser Mark told us they found no problems and replaced the radio for us. About a month after the car came back from repair, it happened again. However, we were able to start the car after few minutes of trying. In less than a week it happened again. Our car would not start after we get gas at the Shell gas station. We pissed off the gas attendant who threaten to call a tow truck and police on us because our car won't start. The customers were beeping the horn and swearing at us. My wife and I were stuck at the gas station and AAA was 1.15hrs away. After about 15 minutes of trying to start the car, it started again and we were told not to come back to the gas station for service. I left a voice mail to the service adviser(Mark) and requested a call back ASAP and Mark never returned my call. Feeling frustrated, pissed off and helpless, from now on, I will video the power outage/problems to my phone and get a receipt from AAA everytime I call them for the same problem. I think I bought a lamon car from Herb Chamber. Back to the service department today(7/27/11) with the mini and spoke with the service adviser(Not Mark) regarding the same problems. I showed him the video(regarding the car problems) that I recorded on my phone. He promised me to do a detail check on my mini. I also spoke with the manager Mr. Miller who came to see me after reading this post. Miller stated he will contact William Rogers of Mini and advise him of the problems. Both Miller and I agreed to wait for the result of the test and if the problems can't be fix, Miller agreed to replace my car with a new one(including all features/options)with no charge and fee. 15 minutes prior to updating this post, I've got a call from the service dept and the person on the phone stated the problem could be the battery and they will need more time to test my car and do more road test, I guess all I can do is sit and wait. So far, me and my wife haven't get a chance to enjoy our mini since we bought it. Every time we drive it, we are hoping that we can come home safely. Will see how many miles they gonna put on my car for testing purposes. I received few updates(phone calls) from Herb Chamber this afternoon(7/27/11) and again, I was told that they were unsure of what caused the problem. However, the service adviser and Mr. Miller clearly showed me that they do care about their services and customers, as a result of it, I increased the scores of my rating on Herb Chamber based on the conversation and promises that I had with Mr. Miller and the service adviser.
