Dear Jmcguire, I received your email and am sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience. Your satisfaction with and confidence in your Lexus is of premier importance to Herb Chambers. Our goal is that you never own another brand or service your Lexus elsewhere. As an expression of our commitment to your ownership experience, we offer complimentary pick-up and delivery of your vehicle for any major services. Your vehicle was purchased 8 years ago and has been out of warranty for several years. We offer Extended Warranties which can be purchased at anytime during your ownership in order to keep your vehicle covered after the Factory Warranty expires. Lexus has a Required Maintenance Program that must be followed in order to keep the vehicle running at its peak performance. The maintenance can be done at any Lexus dealership and as I mentioned prior, we are always willing to pick the vehicle up for any major services if requested. According to our records your last visit at a Lexus Service Department was on July 15, 2004. During that 6 year time period Lexus does have required maintenance that must be performed on their vehicles. Despite the fact there is no substantial evidence of the required maintenance being performed and your vehicle’s warranty had expired approximately 4 years and 49,000 miles ago, Lexus was still willing to assist you with your repair. Unfortunately this was not satisfactory to you. We stand by the Lexus product and its reliability based on Maintenance Requirements as well as Loyalty to Lexus Service Departments. I regret that we were not able to service your vehicle for the entire length of your ownership and wish we would have had the opportunity to do so.
