He provided many vehicles which would have met my needs and presented them all. He kept me well informed of the process, time needs, and provided me with refreshments and sandwich. One car I was interested in he went out of his way to suggest that I do not pursue because it was not meeting my criteria. The Smart Price made me feel I was paying a competative rate, I did not feel I was being swindeled. Overall the experience was positive. More

It was Dec. 27th, the Monday after Christmas Day. There were not many vehicles on the road and it looked like the whole state was shutting down due to the snow storm. When my husband and I arrived the dealership, my car was there ready for me and it was very impressive -- Robert took his promise really seriously. The salesman Steve Baker really knew the Lexus product inside out. He was very professional and friendly. Within 3 hours I had test driven the car and made the deal. Steve and the entire staff worked hard to get the car and extras that we wanted. I had several questions prior taking delievery of the car and they were very responsive and explained all my concerns fully. It was a get pleasure and we are very happy with the car. More
It was the worst retail experience I have ever had. I bought a pre-owned car & identified two major problems within the first two days (brakes and GPS). They denied there were issues because claimed the bought a pre-owned car & identified two major problems within the first two days (brakes and GPS). They denied there were issues because claimed they "could not replicate the problem". Finally, after 3 months the front end shook so hard and consistently that they could not deny it & finally fixed it, but only after my safety was at risk for 3 months! The GPS still doesnt work, and has not worked since I bought it. They led me to believe that they would fix the problem for a while, and then just said "sorry", after 3 months. They indicated that it would be too much money too fix. By that time, I was out of warranty. Now I realize why they delayed the process. If that wasnt enough, the pre-owned manager said he would take care of the situation, and then just decided he would not. A flat out liar. More

I had bought three previous new Lexus vehicles from this dealership, starting in 1992, and most recently attempted to buy a fourth. There has been a constant churn in salesmen and other personnel at this dealership, so those who sold me my first three cars have long since gone elsewhere. This time around I drew Gerry Baker, who was personable, friendly, and helpful. I agreed to buy a Lexus ES350 from inventory and an acceptable purchase price was quickly reached. Then the entire purchase experience went downhill rapidly. Ed Amaral, the used car manager, offered me $5000 less for my mint condition low mileage Lexus trade-in, which had been bought at and serviced by this dealership, than its then-current wholesale book value. I refused to accept this classic low-ball deal, at which time a pushy and arrogant sales manager was brought in to nail down the sale. When I continued to refuse to accept the offered trade-in value, he became rude and abusive. I walked away from the deal and took my subsequent new-car business to another marque at another dealership, where I have been treated fairly and honestly. I am about to purchase my fourth new vehicle from them. By the way, I had a similar unpleasant experience with another sales manager at Herb Chambers when I bought my third car from them. That time around, I stood my ground and got the deal I wanted, despite the abuse. They provide a typical Toyota dealership good-cop bad-cop purchasing experience, the sole difference being that Lexus salesmen wear more expensive suits and the showroom floor is cleaner. Postlude I: six months after the sales debacle, I returned to Herb Chambers Lexus to turn in my SC430 at lease end. I was kept standing half an hour at the reception desk before someone could be found to take the keys and inspect the vehicle. A week later, Lexus (aka Toyota) Financial Services called, demanding to know where their lease vehicle was and why I had not turned it in! The dealership hadn't bothered to document the turn-in or notify the lessor of receipt. I also told LFS I would not be doing business with that dealership or them in the future. Postlude II: over a year and 12K additional miles after the low-ball trade-in offer, I sold that same vehicle to another dealership for $2000 more than Herb Chambers Lexus had offered me a year previously. Needless to say, I have no intention of returning to Herb Chambers Lexus nor purchasing another Lexus at any other dealership. They have permanently offended a long-time loyal customer and have not earned any further repeat business from me. More

He also did a great job making sure that the car was nice and clean. His attention to details greatly distinguishes him from other salesmen. He may be young, but he knows what he's doing!
