They told me it was at a remote lot and they could have it there for an appointment at 12:15, could I make it then. Got there at 12:15 and no car yet...it was on the way. So they started the appraisal of my trade in while we waited. Then would not show me the car until we negotiated a price. Bottom line I have been to four other Honda dealers and a few other brand dealers sand had appraisal of my trade in and the exact same model I was looking to buy. These guys where 10% or $1500 lower on what they would offer for my car and $1500 more for the car than any other dealer I spoke with. I don't think the car was ever brought to the dealership the whole time I was there. Big waste of time. Avoid at all costs. They had a ton of room in their pricing and didn't care to even try to get my business. More
Hi, I'm trying to get a contact info to make a complement about Herb Chambers Honda Boston dealer. Should I keep in touch Honda or Herb Chambers. Cause I was trying to learn the conditions of buying a Honda about Herb Chambers Honda Boston dealer. Should I keep in touch Honda or Herb Chambers. Cause I was trying to learn the conditions of buying a Honda car and sales person got my $1000 dollars from my account without my permission. So I've written a complement letter about his attitude but I don't know where to send. thanks for your help, Sincerly, Sermin More
The dealership in Brookline made false promises about taking our leased Honda on trade for a new Honda. They claimed that as part of the deal we would not have to pay the overage on the miles. After a taking our leased Honda on trade for a new Honda. They claimed that as part of the deal we would not have to pay the overage on the miles. After a month we got a bill from Honda leasing that we not only owed for the mileage but that we also owed a late fee for turning the car in late. The car was turned into the dealer on time but they held onto it for a month. Now they are not only refusing to pay the mileage as promised but they are not even helping us to straighten out the late fee issue. We will never buy another car from Herb Chambers. More
A car is just a car. I want the car to be reliable and get me from A to B safely. So I am glad there are options other than Herb Chambers out there, and I will take my business elsewhere after my recent get me from A to B safely. So I am glad there are options other than Herb Chambers out there, and I will take my business elsewhere after my recent experience. I know there are not the appropriate channels within the Herb Chambers company, or the industry, for that matter, to address what happened to me, so when I saw this website I thought I might at least be able to warn others. I was told the price of a car. I gave my credit card for deposit. I was happy and excited about finally having my car search behind me. I should have known that was far too easy. I received a follow-up call to come back to the dealership because there had been a "mistake". It seems, the salesperson and the manager had a miscommunication and made a "mistake" where the price I had been quoted, and agreed to, was $2000 wrong. The offer was $2000 less than it should have been. When I resisted this extra charge, I was treated with complete and utter cruelty. I was called a thief. Apparently, according to the dealership, this was all my fault. I was told I was an awful person, someone that would steal groceries from an old lady or not return someone else's belongings. I would steal, I would lie. I must be "Miss Perfect" if I couldn't understand their mistake. As I was berated, I sat there uncomfortably, other than trying to get a word in edgewise to say that actually I wouldn't steal from someone else, I didn't know what to do. I am woman. As my discomfort increased, nervous laughter escaped at one point. I was told sit there - smirk! laugh! sigh! You are a bad person. You think you are perfect. Well, sorry, I am not Mr. Perfect he said, and I make mistakes. He told me that he was a good person, and I was trying to take advantage of him. Afraid to respond, and unsure how to handle his attack, I got up to leave. At this point, he began to raise his voice more so, to scream at me, loudly enough for everyone in showroom to hear, saying that he "Did not want the business of a person like me. Get out!" He followed behind me and yelled back to someone at his front desk dramatically to call the police. I got in my car, and drove away as far as I could handle, then pulled over and cried my heart out. What kind of treatment was that? I am extremely saddened. I know that I should not take personal offense to this incident. I am sure it is one of many that man would have on that day. I am sure he sleeps just fine every night. I won't. It does impact me. I am sure that other dealerships lie and scam to get what they want from the customer, too. But this just seems outrageous to me. This is my Herb Chambers story. More
Based solely on my experience, I would very much recommend against Herb Chambers. I phoned this dealership for a price on a new Honda. Over the phone, the sales rep quoted me sub-MSRP and invited recommend against Herb Chambers. I phoned this dealership for a price on a new Honda. Over the phone, the sales rep quoted me sub-MSRP and invited me to come to the dealership for a test drive. When I got there, they didn't have the car ("oh, we just sold it"). More importantly, all of a sudden the price was roughly $1700 above MSRP!! What? When I balked at this, they did the whole "talk to the sales manager" routine and eventually came back down to MSRP. They refused to honor the $400 internet coupon I had printed off their website, even though this sale was well within the terms listed on the coupon. They flat-out refused to consider anything lower than MSRP. Oh well...the next day I called Boch Honda (another area dealer) and found the same vehicle for a few bucks below invoice. I was more than happy to buy at that price...this was a number that my Herb Chambers sales rep literally laughed at; at Boch, it was their first offer. With Boch, I had a very low-key, no-pressure transaction. At Herb Chambers, I felt like I was on some candid camera spoof. Your experience may differ, but I won't be back. More

Most horrible car-buying experience ever--STAY AWAY!! Paid $400 extra for the pre-owned "certification." Dealer didn't provide ONE PAGE of documentation! What should've been provided but wasn't? • Ow Paid $400 extra for the pre-owned "certification." Dealer didn't provide ONE PAGE of documentation! What should've been provided but wasn't? • Owners manual • New Car Warranty manual • Certified Warranty Booklet • Copy of HCUC 150-pt. Inspection Checklist in Glove Box (Once completed) • Radio Security Code They also promised, but failed, to fix rear bumper damage, and delivered the car 2 days later than they had promised, with only 1 key (not specific to checklist, but not exactly "like new" either). As for the documentation, after 3 phone calls to the sales associate, his supervisor took my call and actually used the "they're in the mail" line. Suffice it to say--never got 'em. And will never give Herb Chambers another cent of my business! More
I wanted to buy a new Honda and came into Herb Chambers Honda. The associate we dealt with was quite nice, took us for a test drive, and told us (my girlfriend and I) all about the cars. I was never goin Honda. The associate we dealt with was quite nice, took us for a test drive, and told us (my girlfriend and I) all about the cars. I was never going to buy a car upon just walking into the store and was merely test-driving to see if I liked a particular model. I was so hassled and pressured to put down a deposit I was completely turned off from this dealership. I told them I wanted a deal and they wouldn't give me anything. I got some advice from someone experienced in buying cars, called this dealership back to tell them I wanted to buy the car at invoice. They offered Edmunds.com invoice price (which was higher than the actual invoice) so I called up another dealership who was happy to sell at invoice. And while I was at Herb Chamber's Honda, I felt that the entire time the business manager was trying to get his hands on my wallet. He could not accept the idea that I wasn't going to leave a deposit on the car. I would never go back to this dealership. Additionally, a co-worker bought a car from this dealership and had a miserable experience. She bought a car that was, "coming in". It didn't come in for over two weeks and they kept telling her it'd be in Boston in a few days. They were dishonest so she hates this place more than I do. More
King of Bait and Switch... Called ahead both Boston King of Bait and Switch... Called ahead both Boston (on Saturday) and Burlington (on Sunday) for advertised speacials on an Accord. Went to the dea King of Bait and Switch... Called ahead both Boston (on Saturday) and Burlington (on Sunday) for advertised speacials on an Accord. Went to the dealer, spent almost two hours test driving only to find out they never had the car. They tried to sell me cars i did not want for twice the adveritsed payments. At Burlington, they did have the car, test drove it, agreed to buy and then after 30 min of paper work Mr. Sergio comes back to tell me that advertisement was a misprint (he had a copy of the advertisement with him all along) and he can not do 36 month lease. It has to be a 24 month term with same down payment as 36 month lease. The manager told me that he did not know I was in the show room for two hours and I should have dealt with him. I will never buy any car from any Herb Chambers dealer again. I will also be reporting to Better Business Bureau about false advertising by Herb Chambers. More
Herb Chambers may have it, but you can't see it! They Herb Chambers may have it, but you can't see it! They seem to be the king of the "bait and switch" I went to Herb Chambers in Boston and in Westbor Herb Chambers may have it, but you can't see it! They seem to be the king of the "bait and switch" I went to Herb Chambers in Boston and in Westboro, both times calling ahead and making sure they had the car I was looking for. Both times I arrived, the car was mysteriously not there.. in fact, I sat in the boston office, check book in hand ready to buy a car, I sat for an hour and half and was never able to even see a car. How do they sell any? I think Herb has gotten too big and needs a new system for tracking inventory. More
