I was very happy with my recent experience buying a used 2007 Honda CRV from Paul Wisdom at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston. Paul was very helpful and understanding - this was the first time I purchased a use 2007 Honda CRV from Paul Wisdom at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston. Paul was very helpful and understanding - this was the first time I purchased a used car on my own and he patiently answered all my questions. He didn't pressure me to purchase - he just let me know what was available and when a car that I was interested in became available he called me right away. He allowed me to take the car to a mechanic for advice and when I came back with some requests based on the inspection he arranged for the work to be done. Another person who was very helpful was James - I don't know his last name but he was one of the managers. I highly recommend the sales department. The only area which could have been improved was the coordination with the service department as the car wasn't ready yet when I picked it up and when I returned for a follow-up appointment there was a delay again. But, the work was done well so I am satisfied with the service. More
I agree with the previous posting about Giau Luong. I had several things bad about my experience: 1. I went with my family because I figured it wouldn't take long to drive a used car. He made me, my wife, a several things bad about my experience: 1. I went with my family because I figured it wouldn't take long to drive a used car. He made me, my wife, a 2 year old, and a 3 month infant wait 1.5 before helping us. After which it took another hour before we were even able to drive the car. 2. He did not follow through on his promises. We had ask for 3 rust spots to be removed and he only removed one. And the second one was not done by the an autom mechanic. And the third was not done at all. Don't believe him when he pulls out a folder of letters from previous clients. It's just a cheap sales tactic. He would also talk about his religious piousness as the back drop to his integrity. Don't buy that either. 3. Once we signed the purchase and sales agreement he would wait until the end of the day to return our calls. 4. Instead of having the title available the day of our purchase and sales, he made me come in another day to bring in the title. 5. He also did not give us the car the day we brought the check. He waited more than 3 days so as to guarantee that we cannot exercise the Honda return policy which is effective the day of the purchase and sales. 6. When he finally delivered the car, he never provided the pre-owned certification papers. We had to pester him about it for him to generate that document. 7. On the day of the car delivery the floor mats were missing and the he only gave us a key. The remote starters were all missing. 8. When we bought the car, the odometer reading was 52,039. When he delivered the car the odometer reading was 52,350. When I asked him about the odometer reading discrepancy he said that they copied it from an older document instead of reading it from the car. This in and of itself is violates state laws. The state of MA requires that you take the odometer reading the day of the purchase and sales. 9. When they delivered the car the rotors were also problematic. It takes a while for the car to come to a complete stop and the brake drums were uneven. This of course was an oversight on my part because I should of driven more highway during the test drive. But having waiting the dealership so long, the last thing I wanted to do was spend more time with their sales team. Updated-July24 2010 However the autobody and mechanical issues were resolved by Howie Reske a few weeks later. Howie Reske General Manager Herb Chambers Honda in Boston 617-731-0100 He made it a point to contact me after I formally filed my complaints with my car issues. He was able to resolve: 1. The rust spots were sanded, primed and repainted by an auto mechanic. 2. The side-swipe was repaired with no questions asked. 3. The brake drums were evened out and the brake pads were replaced. 4. He also loaned me an Odyssey at no extra cost. His actions did reconcile my misgivings I've had about Herb Chambers. It is a lesson learned in talking to the right person. So if you were to go to this dealership do stop by Howie Reske if you ever have any issues at all and he will definitely resolve those for you. Don't wait for the sales person to do something. More
I went to Herb Chambers after a not so pleasant experience at another dealership. In general the customer service at Herb Chambers was excellent. Wanted to share with everyone looking to buy a new car a wonderful experience I had working with Seamus Byrne, a Boston Herb Chambers Sales and Leasing Consultant. Throughout the sales process, Seamus wonderful experience I had working with Seamus Byrne, a Boston Herb Chambers Sales and Leasing Consultant. Throughout the sales process, Seamus exhibited a sincere desire to make sure I found the right car. There was never any pressure from him to just buy a car. I looked at and test drove several cars. Going in, I wasn't even planning on test driving a standard shift but did so when Seamus suggested I should when I commented how I used to drive a stick. At the end of the day, I chose to buy an Accord with standard shift and even got a great price for my trade-in. I had always loved driving a stick but had always settled on an automatic being considerate of other family members who don't want to drive a stick. But for this once, I decided to get something for myself and the family. I've driven the Accord for a few weeks now and my family is happy with my decision since the Accord is such a great vehicle and surprisingly, doesn't feel like a step down from the Lexus RX 300 I traded in for it. I am very happy with my experience and would highly recommend Seamus Byrne to everyone. More

This is my first car purchase experience. I went to two other dealerships before coming to Herb Chambers and they were rather pushy and uninformative. So I decided to go to Herb Chambers and was greeted by other dealerships before coming to Herb Chambers and they were rather pushy and uninformative. So I decided to go to Herb Chambers and was greeted by Breno who is very friendly and nice. I was not sure on what model I wanted, but Breno gave me thorough explanation on the ones I was tentatively interested in. Two really good prices were given to me. I was told to take some time to think about it and the next time I stop in, Breno will bring the car that I want from the other lot for me to test drive. I came back couple days to be greeted by a welcoming Breno. I test drove and started the negotiation process. Breno was not pushy at all and even fulfilled some of our demands. I came back again to finally pick up my car and Breno was there waiting for me on his off day. He handed me the cars and explained every single detail about the vehicle as I know nothing about cars. Overall, this first experience I had with buying a car was a great one. Breno and the whole staff are all wonderful people. I would definitely come back for future car purchases and recommend friends and family to Breno and Herb Chambers of Boston. More

The process of leasing a 2010 Honda Civic at Herb Chambers Honda of Boston was excellent. Our sales associate, Breno Annes, was friendly, knowledgeable, and gracious. We were unsure at first whethe Chambers Honda of Boston was excellent. Our sales associate, Breno Annes, was friendly, knowledgeable, and gracious. We were unsure at first whether an Accord or Civic was right for our needs, and Breno was very helpful during test drives of each model. Additionally, Herb Chambers Honda of Boston has been helpful ironing out some leasing complications arising from the fact that the car will be leased by a corporate entity incorporated in Maine. Overall, the experience with Breno and the team at Herb Chambers was excellent. I highly recommend Breno Annes and the dealership as a whole. More
