The salesman, Alex O. gave me his undivided attention, and the manager, George Muriuki stepped in when necessary to close the deal. The business manager was also very cordial, efficient, and attentive. A great place to buy a car, and from years of servicing my Honda's there, I can vouch for Robert Hall, a great guy to deal with in Service. More

I am more than willing to give them another shot at earning my business... Recently i visited Herb Chambers of Boston for an oil change and was very disappointed in the service i received. I contacted the service department via phone to set up a service appointment. During the initial contact i asked if Herb Chambers honored competitors coupons even if it was from a different brand (GM)(They advertise they match all competitors coupons on their website). I was told that it would be honored and was asked how much it was for. I responded with did it matter..And the service adviser said no. Fast forward to Sept 3, 2010. I came into the location and met with a service advisor who looked at my coupon and said he could not honor it because it was priced to low. Contradictory to what i was told on the phone he said that he wouldn't honor a GM coupon stating that he was not competing with GM. I begged to differ because apparently GM is competing with Honda. He offered me an alternative offer that was $10 over my coupon. I feel this was a bait and switch tactic used by the service department. More

I stopped in on my lunch hour to see a Pilot, talked with Howie Reske who sat me down and made me feel like I was sitting in his living room talking about old times. I ended the hour taking a test drive with Kathie Smith, closely resembling Thelma & Louise in downtown Boston! What fun! Two weeks later, I'm sporting a 2011, sparkling white Honda Pilot EX-L, at a great price. As a Sourcing Manager for a large University, I spend 40+ hours a week negotiating pricing and lowering total cost of ownership for various commodities. When performing these tasks on a personal basis, I'm just as passionate. With Howie and Kathie, I knew I was getting the best price when I walked in the door. I had done my research. They offered me the best price on the first offer. I accepted. It was a win-win. Sometimes it's not always about the lowest price but the total cost. You need to consider the service piece. When you drive your car off the lot, it shouldn't be the end of the relationship. If you liked the service, it won't be. In addition to being spoiled in the showroom, I was also very well taken care of when I decided to add accessories to the Pilot. After talking with the Service Manager, I knew I'd be bringing the Pilot back for all of its servicing. And not just because he promised they would drive me back and forth to work! It's hard to tell with Herb Chambers, which is the added bonus - service or best price - because here, you get both! More
