In trying to buy a car at Herb Chambers in Boston I was met with half truths, evasions, manipulation and disrespect. I was offered a good price on a 2012 Fit, by email. I then repeatedly asked to simply come in to buy one. However, when I arrived at my appointment, they seemed to have a set agenda. They did not respect my wish to forgo a test drive, and claimed to be unable to tell me if the base model was available at any of their dealerships. The salesperson and sales manager seemed annoyed at my requests. They were rude and condescending at times. It was a most unpleasant experience, and a waste of my time. I was subsequently able but a Fit, for the same price, at another dealer, where everyone was helpful and respectful. More
I went in to buy a specific car that I had found online, the person I had an appointment with was no where to be found so I had to meet up with another sales rep. It took awhile to get the car ready and I was left waiting even though I had an appt and told them the car I was interested in. I test drove the car and liked it and was ready to make an offer. They insisted to appraise my car despite my desire to not use it as a trade in as I wanted to sell it on my own. They insisted they could get it to the price I was planning to sell it for. After waiting for a long time, they finally returned and offered me $500, nothing close to what I told them I wanted for it. I told them I was not interested in using it as a trade in, but was ready to talk numbers. I made my offer which they came back with nothing to counter, insisting their smart price is the lowest they can go. I told them I would not be paying full price, giving them research I had found about the average selling price in the area. They insisted they could give me a couple hundred more for my trade to make up for it. I again reiterated my offer and my desire to keep my car and sell it on my own,, giving me much more than what they intended to. They kept coming and going with the same offer despite my readiness to go. I wasted a couple hours just sitting there, by this time my sales rep left to go help other people, no longer interested. Finally, I got up and started leaving and they had the nerve to ask if I'd like to put down a deposit to hold the car in case I changed my mind. The car was 11,700 and I would have been liked to walk out at 11,000 but they wouldn't move an inch, not even a counter, if they would have at least worked a little with me, I would have felt better. I had a couple other dealerships to check out who had the same car. I went to one right after, they had the same car (same specs, mileage, amd condition) and had the exact same asking price. The were much more friendly and attentive, wanting to make sure I felt I was getting a good deal, I walked out with that car in no time with paying only 10,300. More
The atmosphere at Herb Chambers Boston is very customer friendly. From the moment I entered the showroom I was greeted warmly by Rachel Balbago and introduced to my sales person, Elie Hanna, who was just a friendly. He was very patient, knowledgeable, and thorough in his duties, and went out of his way to accommodate every request. He worked very diligently with Jason Bradley and the finance team to move the numbers around to make my purchase happen. Everyone I met greeted me with a warm smile, I never felt any (sales) pressure, and I left with a feeling of trust and complete satisfaction with my new Honda Fit (which I absolutely LOVE!) and the entire buying experience. I was particularly impressed with the sales manager, Scott Sundlie, who masterfully eliminated a minor glitch in the process and whose helpfulness and genuine kindness were outstanding. This has been one of the best dealership encounters I've ever had...top notch customer service, phenomenal staff, great prices. I highly recommend the entire team and look forward to working with them in the future. More

I recently purchased a pre-owned Honda CR-V. From the moment I walked in the door, I was put at ease. The customer service was top-notch. Jason Bradley, worked for hours to get a great rate and reasonable payments. His dedication was incredible. I also worked closely with Jason O'Brien, the sales director. His professionalism and candor was exactly what I was looking for. He put me at complete ease. The entire team at Herb Chambers Honda is one that I have never seen at a dealership. I went to Herb Chambers looking for a specific car I saw on the internet. I was looking for a used a car within a certain price range. I had previously been to three other dealerships (all bad experiences) on the internet. I was looking for a used a car within a certain price range. I had previously been to three other dealerships (all bad experiences) and was feeling discouraged. From the moment I arrived through the financing and purchasing process this was a very different and pleasant experience. My salesman Paul Jackson made it all feel so easy. He is a super nice guy and great to work with. Even though I was buying a used car (not the biggest sale) he made me feel like his best customer! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new car. More
I was first attracted by the "Herb Chambers" internet deals that were posted on the web. I had a 12 year old vehicle and I knew it was about time to repair or renew my transportation. I am from western mass, and I went to a couple of my local dealers and asked if they could come anywhere close to the terms that I saw posted and they either said "no", or something like "give me a few days to look it over and see exactly what they're offering". Several of the places that I called or contacted on the net never even responded to me. Rory at Herb Chambers contacted me almost immediately and asked me to come down. I had to go to Children's Hospital later that week so I stopped in to the dealership while I was there. My salesman, Paul Jackson offered me the deal that I had seen on the net ---no strings attached--, but I didn't have my trade in with me, so that was sort of holding up the process. I left and went back home, but there was a call on my answering machine from one local dealership that said they had researched the "Chambers" deal and thought they could match it, but if there were any glitches in my credit, that would be a deal breaker. This was 4 days later. I probably would have pursued that if it wasn't for Sara from Herb Chambers, who called me on a Saturday and talked me into coming back with my trade in on a Sunday. I told her that I didn't want to waste my trip just to be humiliated by a lowball offer for my Suburban but she told me that she was 100% certain that we would be able to strike a deal that we both could live with and I would not drive there for nothing. Sara wasn't kidding, the rest is history. Yes, it did take us a few hours to settle on a price, and sure, James the finance guy helped move the numbers around to make this happen, but this place really is true their motto; "We don't sell cars, we help people buy cars." They're not kidding, and I will be back! More
