These folks are the absolute bomb - they know how to sell, but they make selling a premium experience for the buyer that leaves you feeling like you got everything you wanted and more. Long story short: I had secured a deal on a '23 Honda Civic at another local Honda dealership. They sent me an offer sheet, I liked the price, and I reached out to Hendrick (and a few others) to see if they could beat it. To Hendrick's credit, they were up front that they couldn't beat the price I'd been offered...they were honest about that number being exceptionally competitive. I thanked them and moved on. The next day (after already having secured financing and working out scheduling to pick up the vehicle), I get a call from the other dealership: they were slapping a $2500 addendum on the car. Look, I buy a lot of brand new cars - I've never had a dealer attempt to slap additional charges on a deal after a number had been agreed upon in writing. It was questionably legal (and unquestionably sleazy), and I was in a tough spot. I reached back out to Hendrick with my story and a simple ask: get me as close as possible to the other dealership's offer and I will buy their car ASAP. Any other dealer could've looked at my situation and seen easy pickin's - a desperate buyer whose closed deal somehow unwound. Instead, the team at Hendrick saw the opportunity to secure a longtime customer...they hopped in, got me a great deal, and absolutely saved they day. (by the way - the sleazy dealer reached back out to me offering me the car at their original agreed-upon price a few hours after I backed out of their deal. I declined and took Hendrick's offer instead even though it was technically a bit higher - this team deserved to be rewarded for their excellent service) Some individual shoutouts: Stefanie - she truly secured this sale. Her responses were prompt, personable, and everything you could ask for from a salesperson. How often does a salesperson say "I'll go ask my manager..." and you can actually believe that's what they're doing...and that it's going to work? She's dang good at this whole car sales business. Nothing would make me happier than this review being shared in a company-wide email or something, because she deserves a major shoutout for her efforts. Jarod - We didn't talk much before my time on the lot to pick up the car, but he deserves a ton of credit for being great conversation, smoothly navigating the initial steps of formal closing, and being a Honda guy ready to talk shop. Tanner - Tanner has to do the thing that many buyers dread the most about the car buying process: finance and warranty sales. You'd never guess that this was folks' least favorite part of buying a car if your finance guy is Tanner - he's easy to talk to, immensely transparent, and expertly pitched a number of things that I didn't need so well that I nearly bought them. Look, I'm his nightmare customer: a guy who secures outside financing pre-purchase, typically buys cars only to drive them short-term (ie. no warranties for me!), etc...and yet he was gracious in conversation. Tanner, if you see this, nobody has ever come that close to getting me to buy a warranty...and you may be hearing from me in a few months on that subject depending on the factors we discussed. That's not even addressing the CAR, which is easily the most refined brand-new vehicle I've ever purchased...and I've bought 4 new cars since 2020 (and a number of used cars as well). If you want a hot hatch at economy car prices, a 6MT Sport 11th Gen Civic Hatch will get you where you're going. This thing is a blast to drive (thanks to the K20 paired w/ yet another crisp-shifting transmission from Honda) and feels substantially more premium than its price point. Maybe I'm just used to my Mustangs, which aren't exactly refined...but the build quality here is blowing my mind. More
