A Very Poor Experience My jeep stopped running Friday morning - 09/14/18 I had it towed to the dealership because there is a recall on it. The dealership got back to me (Ji My jeep stopped running Friday morning - 09/14/18 I had it towed to the dealership because there is a recall on it. The dealership got back to me (Jimmy) on 09/21/18 to tell me the oil cooler was broken and my engine was rattling - the bottom. I asked how they determined this and how that part fails. I was told they weren't sure. They quoted me $6500 plus labor to put a new engine in $5500 plus labor for a used engine. I asked them to please look at it and determine how it failed - as I was hit in a hit and run (Jeep was parked and in first with ebrake) a month prior and was it damaged and just missed because I'm not leaking oil/have no oil spots in the driveway or where I park at work. I was told they would put it on the lift - because somehow they determined the oil cooler failed without putting it on the lift and looking at what's wrong with it. I was told this on 09/21/18 - It is 09/28/18 and I have had to get my husband involved because they still have not put it on the lift to diagnose it, have not fixed the recall, have not stated why or how the oil cooler broke or was damaged. Telephone calls are not returned in a timely manner. Oh and when I had it towed to the dealership - because it is a 2008 Wrangler - Manual with less than 100k miles on it, I asked for a loaner car - they don't have them - there is a 3 week wait list - ... it's been three weeks that they have had my vehicle - no answers just "please hand us $6500 to $5500 plus labor" - I would not recommend. It's the worst experience I have ever had ever. I should have towed it to a mom and pop shop that would at least act like they care. More
