They made it EASY! I was unexpectedly in the market for a new truck after discovering severe rust problems with my F150. My wife and I decided not to pour more money in I was unexpectedly in the market for a new truck after discovering severe rust problems with my F150. My wife and I decided not to pour more money into the aged vehicle and instead look for a newer one. First stop was our local Ford dealer to sit down with a sales associate who took my name and info then pointed me to the lot where they had a few used trucks displayed. A quick look at the sad condition and high prices left me disappointed. That evening, I hit the internet and started looking there for trucks. Forever longing for a Toyota Tundra (tired of rebuilding my F150 piece by broken piece), I browsed the Toyota Certified used vehicles portion of our local Dealer. I only found a few trucks at the local dealer so decided to widen the search area to 100 miles. The new results showed a lots of trucks so I searched on the ones with similar features as I currently had on my F150 and saw one displayed there that I immediately fell in love with. The next morning I emailed, via a link on the search page, a question to verify that it was a 4WD and quickly received a response via email from Emily Smith, the internet sales consultant. Not only did I get an answer, but also a whole rundown on the truck including lots of pictures of the inside, outside, under hood, cup holders, shift lever and practically everything else. I replied that I wanted to drive up at lunchtime to take a quick look at it and immediately got a response that it would be fine. I made the drive (about 40 miles) and when I pulled into the dealer, there was the truck! I went inside and met Wade McDonald and we both went back outside to look at the truck. It was immaculate and just what I was looking for. A quick test drive followed (lunch time, remember?) and when I got back I told Wade I liked the truck – except for the crappy stock steel rims (I have to be honest here) and that I would have to talk with my wife that night about it and get back to him. Later that day, I got an email from him, thanking me for the visit and if there was anything I needed, to call him. Attached was a video that I chose not to look at right away since I was researching other ads from all over the east coast to compare prices. After a discussion with my wife, we decided that we both wanted to take a look at it again. I emailed Wade and asked to set up a time late the next day, unfortunately, the next day was Friday and it was his day off. But he told me that he needed to come in for a client in the afternoon and that if we wanted, we could come in later to look at it. Arriving 45 minutes before closing, he gave us the keys and told us to take it for a drive while he finished with the other customer. My wife was happy with the ride and how it drove so upon return we sat down with Wade and discussed purchasing the truck. We wanted to finance it so were given several options on available institutions and rates. Happy with everything we decided to buy. A small deposit and we set up a time to pick up the vehicle the next afternoon. That night, after being prompted by Wade, I took a look at the video. Custom made for me, it was about 5 minutes long describing everything about the truck, including the factory financing, the 1 year bumper to bumper warranty and the 100,000 power train warranty. Fantastic! Delivery was a breeze. We haggled a little about the trade-in for my old truck, talked him down on the sale price (a little – since it was already quite reasonably priced to begin with) and except for the usual litany of paperwork we were riding down the highway within about an hour and 20 minutes after we showed up.
