I took my car in for a warranty service due to a faulty thermostat (on 2 occasions). On the 2nd instance, the service department explained why it had to be replaced a 2nd time (the whole system needed to b thermostat (on 2 occasions). On the 2nd instance, the service department explained why it had to be replaced a 2nd time (the whole system needed to be replaced as opposed to a specific part). Unfortunately, after that was fixed, a tech did not seal something properly and a few days later, coolant exploded onto my engine while I drove on the highway, causing smoke and an overheated engine. I got to safety immediately. On the plus side, Hamilton service apologized profusely and sent a tow to take my car 70 something miles to their dealership for free. I hitched a ride from a friend to pick up a loaner vehicle and my car was fixed that same day at no-charge. I was assured that they checked for long-term issues with my engine due to the coolant explosion but I find that hard believe and have concerns that I may have engine problems in the future from this mistake without the ability to prove such an issue. On top of that, unlike any other visit to the service department where a tech sends a video of the issues, I never received a video of what caused the coolant issues/engine problems. That is concerning. As of now, 2000 miles later, there are no issues and I hope that that continues. I understand mistakes happen but I hope they understand my concern regarding the potential for long-term issues. More
