Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

Couldn't Have Been Better!! Ahh where do I begin?? Above and Beyond I was searching for the right (the best), sales person to help my son purchase or lease the 2019 Cambridge, with the least amount of hassle. Steve D I was searching for the right (the best), sales person to help my son purchase or lease the 2019 Cambridge, with the least amount of hassle. Steve Denson was recommenced to us, and so with trepidation I called, and hoped that I was contacting a good sales person. From “Hello”, Steve was above and beyond my expectations. He was not pushy, but knowledgeable about inventory, deals etc. One minute he was telling us to go in and meet him, the next minute he was finalizing the sale on exactly the car my son wanted. It was without hassle, and Steve never made us feel like we were being taken or deceived in anyway. His honestly, integrity and warm personality put us at ease during the entire process. We will never return to Keys Toyota again where we felt gauged and tricked by sales person after sales person. It is a complete racket over there. My son got a 3 year lease, we’ll DEFINITELY be back to see Steve in 3 years. And I have already recommended Hamer Toyota and Steve Denson to a few people over the weekend. Thank you Steve! More
