Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

I did my homework and shopped 8 different Toyota dealerships for the best price on a 2021 Corolla LE Hybrid. Mostly through email and texts. Steve was the only person from all the dealerships that dealerships for the best price on a 2021 Corolla LE Hybrid. Mostly through email and texts. Steve was the only person from all the dealerships that actually answered the questions I was asking, and in a prompt time. Others I contacted gave me one price on the email, then it amazingly changed upward when we got down to discussing details. Even though Hamer Toyota is 70 miles from my home, the trip was more than well worth it. Steve is not only straight forward, but friendly and fun to work with. On top of all that, he gave me by far the best price. If you live within Southern California, I highly recommend you make the trip to Hamer to work with Steve. More

It is always a pleasure to go to Hamer to buy a car. Their inventory is very good and they are always very efficient. We have purchased many cars from them. Steve Denson was fantastic! We knew what model we wanted, but Steve spent time with us explaining the different trims. We knew what interior we wanted and Steve made sure to show us our choices. We went on a test drive and had some questions about specific buttons, knobs , and how some basic features worked (e.g.radio, a.c.). As others have said, Steve took the time to go over these things and others we did not know or think about. He told us we could contact him later if we needed to. Oh, by the way. No price “games” or attempted bait and switch. What a simple, straightforward process. Thanks, Steve! More
