Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

We had an excellent experience with Reno Reyes when we purchased our Venza at Hamer Toyota. He was very pleasant and patient to work with. He answered all of our questions and was obviously very knowled purchased our Venza at Hamer Toyota. He was very pleasant and patient to work with. He answered all of our questions and was obviously very knowledgeable about the vehicle. He took care of all the associated tasks in purchasing our vehicle. I would definitely recommend him to other buyers. Thank you Reno! Great job. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience with the Finance Dept. (David Gonzalez). When he realized that we were not going to purchase any of the additional add-on products he was selling, he became notably rude and unhelpful. He rushed us through the finance process and barely answered any questions we had with a head nod (no verbal response). He did not provide us with a paper copy of our finance paperwork, but pushed over a flash drive when at the end of our meeting. Reno and front desk staff provided us with this document upon our request. So, overall a good experience, that was unfortunately partially negative due to the Finance Dept. service. More
