I have known Steve Denson at Hamer Toyota for over 15 years and have come to really appreciate his outstanding disposition. He is knowledgable, honest, and professional. In the time that I have known him years and have come to really appreciate his outstanding disposition. He is knowledgable, honest, and professional. In the time that I have known him, I have certainly tried other vehicle companies and other dealers, but somehow I always make my way back to him and am never dissappointed. My most recent purchase was a 2010 Prius and once again I felt an overt sense of customer service as though he was taking care of a member of his own family. I highly recommend Steve at Hamer. More
Doug provided me with great service and made the entire process so easy going. He was willing to assist despite my current credit situation while other dealers didn't want to bother. He even offered to fol process so easy going. He was willing to assist despite my current credit situation while other dealers didn't want to bother. He even offered to follow me home in the new car since I had to drive my old car home as well. Service definetly above expectations. 5 stars. More
Who would ever of thought that dealing with a car dealer could be an enjoyable experience? Well Douglas Gibbs , a salesman at Hamer Toyota made it possible. I initially started dealing with Doug via th could be an enjoyable experience? Well Douglas Gibbs , a salesman at Hamer Toyota made it possible. I initially started dealing with Doug via the internet. I told him which car I was interested in and which options I was interested in. He replied promptly with what was available to meet my criteria. After back and forth correspondence I came down to meet Doug, go for a test drive and make a deal. I found Doug and his colleagues to be professional and efficient. They want you behind the wheel of a Toyota and they'll do what they have to make you a satisfied customer. I am. More
Doug was the best salesman I worked with -- and I went to about twenty dealerships around Southern Cal. Very informative, helpful -- but not pushy. Honest. I had been trying to find a blue prius and searched about twenty dealerships around Southern Cal. Very informative, helpful -- but not pushy. Honest. I had been trying to find a blue prius and searched high and low throughout the region -- sent out emails to almost every dealer -- and it was doug that responded only when he had the car i wanted at the price i wanted. I absolutely cannot believe how dishonest and rude the dealers at this dealership are. After researching a Toyota Avalon extensively, I was set on the XLS, without navigation. I had gone in person to ma dealers at this dealership are. After researching a Toyota Avalon extensively, I was set on the XLS, without navigation. I had gone in person to many dealerships and was informed that invoice was around $29,000 (including the shipping fees the dealer incurs) so tax, title, and license were around $3000. That brought the price to $32,000, so I decided an offer of $33,000 out the door (a little under the MSRP price on the window) would still give the dealer about $1000 profit. I emailed around and contacted Hamer Toyota. I received a response from Douglas Gibbs who is by far, the worst person I have ever dealt with in a customer service job. I wrote them an email asking for a 2009 Avalon, without navigation, with bluetooth, gave them the color of exterior paint and interior leather that I wanted and said "thanks in advance". It was short and friendly. Here is the response I got from Douglas: Hello, So you are offering 2000 under invoice? Nice...Great. Fantastic.... Regards,\ Douglas Gibbs Sales Consultant Hamer Toyota (877) 274-0653 DOUG@HAMERTOYOTA.COM This email is so rude, sarcastic, and abrupt. There are many issues with this: 1) The car at invoice is nowhere near the $35000 that Doug is assuming the car costs the dealership. Edmunds states the invoice is just below $29,000. Aside from that, the same invoice price information of $29,000 was given to me by other dealerships! Doug is an uninformed, ignorant salesman. 2) My asking price includes a profit for the dealership 3) His response, even if he thought it was low, could have said, "Your asking price is a little low for us. Let's talk some more and make a deal" 4) He was referred to my inquiry from his manager. If he is willing to disrespect his manager's request to take on a client, there is no way he would treat a client well. 5) I have since purchased this exact vehicle at the $33,000 price from another dealer and was later contacted by two other dealerships offering the same price I offered. Do NOT deal with Doug. I can only assume the other dealers at this establishment are equally rude or untrained if such an embarrassment is being hired there. More
The salesman agreed to a price on the car while we were on the lot, and when we returned to the office, the sales manager retracted and would not honor the price. This was a not ethical nor approriate. on the lot, and when we returned to the office, the sales manager retracted and would not honor the price. This was a not ethical nor approriate. IF you are looking for a car, i highly recommend this dealership. Why?they are friendly and honest with you. I was not able to buy a car here cause my car is upside down. They honestly told me to just ke dealership. Why?they are friendly and honest with you. I was not able to buy a car here cause my car is upside down. They honestly told me to just keep my car rather than paying too much on a car. They sat down with me and gave me all the options even with out running my credit,I just gave them a ballpark of my credit score and they work from there, unlike at any dealership, they would not even entertain me if I will not give my social security to run my credit. I CAN SAY THAT THEIR FILIPINO DEPARTMENT IS THE BEST, IVE BEEN TO MANY DEALERSHIP BUT THIS ONE IS AMONG THE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED COS OF THEIR SERVICE AND HONESTY. LOOK FOR MATT OR NILO ORTIZ, and let them know that Ping, from batangas, referred you. They gave special deals and treatment if you were referred by somebody. As soon as I find somebody to continue my car, then I will go back there and get a new one from them. More
Is there anything Toyota can do to keep their customer happy? My story, Warning Lights came on so I took it to the dealer on August 11th and notified the service supervisor that I won't be back unti happy? My story, Warning Lights came on so I took it to the dealer on August 11th and notified the service supervisor that I won't be back until the 18th for a vacation. On the day of pick up took my FJ home till I realized my GPS unit is missing, within 15 mins. drove back to the dealer and complained. Service supervisor says " We'll take care of you and since your car was here for 5 days it will take us some time to review the surveillance tapes, give us 5 days and we'll call you" 5 Days later no phone call from the dealer. So I called and spoke to the service supervisor around 3:30. and he threw me this "Well sir since you have signed the service disclaimer stating that we are not responsible for any missing personal belongings" so I said " oh I thought you guy's are reviewing tapes?" He replied "I was personally going to do that for you but I haven't have much time" So I ask a service manager or director to speak to. He said "Sir give me 30 min and I'll have him call you". My blood was boiling. So I calmed down and decided to go the dealer myself, then from a block away a phone call for the service director. I picked up and told him that I'm a block away. So I met with him and sat down in his office and made small talk. Then he asked "Sir what do you think is fair to you since you are partly responsible for leaving your stuff in your car?" I said " I just want my unit back, either you buy me one or give me cash for it", he replied "Well I don't think that is fair that you are laying it on us to go get you one, how do those unit cost now? $150 - $200? While he was looking online on ebay looking for prices, I said "I bought it for $400.00 when it came out and it is 2 years old now so I'm sure they way cheaper now? what do you think is fair?" , he replies " what I think is fair is since your unit is now used that we should only give you half price of a used one since you said it's 2 years old, I'd Say $75 or free service on your car." I was so furious at that moment but controlled myself and respectfully and calmly said "I believe I wasted my time for nothing, I am going to walk out now since you can't make me happy, thank you for your time." Well I have experienced the horror just like everybody has with the dealer. God Bless!! Hamer Toyota Mission Hills, CA More
