Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

I enjoy using Hame Toyota. I might be able to get my vehicles serviced cheaper elsewhere but at Hamer we use Toyota certified technicians so we feel more confident in the quality of the work. He can always explain clearly any questions we have and is prompt to call, return calls and even after all these years addresses us with professional courtesy and not a familiar casualness. We have been Hamer Toyota customers for many, many years. In 2000 we bought 2 new cars. All services and repairs have been done at Hamer. Whether we make appointments or have an 'emergency' and need to ha In 2000 we bought 2 new cars. All services and repairs have been done at Hamer. Whether we make appointments or have an 'emergency' and need to have a repair right away we have always been helped quickly and efficently. For about the last 5 years, Mike has been our Service Manager. Each time we enter the service area, we have been acknowledged and made welcome. In all these years, we have not had to make a return visit because the first repair was not completed correctly. Mike always explains the procedures and prices so there are no surprises. Mike also makes sure that we are updated on any recall issues. Our car is serviced or fixed and ready to be picked up by the promised time. We accept the charges as being fair. More

Saw a way to say Thanks to Peter for the excellent service over the last 15 years. He has consistently given great service by his friendly manner, staying late for pick ups, giving accurate estimates service over the last 15 years.
