I have never had the opportunity to do business with Steve Denson at Hamer Toyota before and I was pleasantly surprised! Having purchased many new Toyotas in the past, in many instances the overall experience has been lackluster-- to my surprise I must say this was my favorite Toyota purchase. Steve knew his product, knew how to present it and was able to get me on the road in my new Camry in no time. The cars on the lot were all clean as was Steve's office and the entire Hamer facility. I was introduced to many employees in key positions to insure a speedy and efficient return for my future service appointments. I will recommend Mr. Denson to everyone I know who is in the market for a car. More

My wife and I first contacted Steve on 11/12/13 via email. A phone call the next day 11/13, followed by a quick test drive and hour long meeting with him on 11/16/13, led to us purchase our first new email. Steve was straightforward, no hassle or pressure, and got us a great deal on an absolutely beautiful car - a 2014 4Runner Trail Premium. From start to finish my wife and I were impressed with Steve's customer service. It's no wonder he's been successful in this industry for so long, with 22 years in the auto sales industry with Hamer Toyota. (Don't just take my word for it, please see his other reviews as additional evidence.) For example, having spoken with him earlier in the week to set up an appointment, he had the 4Runner staged and ready to go for our test drive before we had even arrived. A simple act perhaps, but it's the little things that can really make the car buying experience a positive one, and keep customers coming back again and again. The test drive solidified, in our minds, that we had to have the car! Steve (and Sales Manager Joe Alvarez) worked with us, even though the specific vehicle was one of very few in Southern California AND it was in high demand, and we made a deal at a substantial price below MSRP. Steve set us up with Zain Haroon in the Finance Department, and our positive experience continued. Zain was also very customer service oriented, making every attempt to get us the best deal, at the best price - no gimmicks, no hassle. We decided to purchase the extended warranty and use Toyota for our loan (after trading in my wife's car and making a down payment) because Zain worked to ALMOST HALVE our initial rate that we were quoted. The money we saved on our rate helped to save additional money on the warranty. Additionally, after spending a few days looking at other rates, no bank came close to the rate Zain & Joe got for us. What we were most impressed with, aside from the vehicle we purchased, was how Hamer treated us like family throughout our experience. If you are looking for a deal on a car and a straightforward, friendly buying experience, I highly recommend you meet with Steve/Zain/Joe. I know I will be back when buying my next car, and with family and friends looking to buy vehicles in the near future, I will strongly encourage them to consider a Toyota and meet with Steve. Buying a car is like going to the dentist. This time, however, I was in and out in about 2 hours. Juan did a great job and we came to an agreement rather quickly. We came home grossly disappointed after visiting (for 4 & 3 hours) two dealerships and almost gave up. We can only search for cars in the weekends. So, my wife looked on the internet again and found a different Toyota dealership that still had 3 or 4 white 2013 Toyota Camry LE's in stock. We also needed to hurry up before they are sold out as we were told by the other two dealers. Both of them said, the cars we wanted were sold by the time we got there (10 & 20 minutes) and laughed. When we called the third dealership, the salesman Young Ji told us that Joe (Sales Manager) told him about the car we want and assured us that he had the car ready for us to test drive. Twenty five minutes later, we arrived at the dealership. We test drove in less than five minutes after we arrived. Compared to other the two places, who took at least one hour to even find a similar car but wrong color, wrong package etc. Then Young Ji (a retired army MSrgnt.) took us to his office and let us see every detail of their offer on the computer screen. Both of the other two dealerships were writing on pieces of paper and we couldn't see or understand everything clearly as they were holding the pieces of papers and avoided to give them to us. Young Ji let us see everything and the offer was cheaper than the others for the same car but it was the right color, right package, right financing (0%), even right trade-in offer (for our beautiful BMW), plus $1,000 incentive from the manufacturer with no deceptive talks. Young Ji asked us if we'd like some time to think it over and left us there for a few minutes. It didn't take long for us to make a decision. Then we were moved to another office with Shawn Etminani(Financing). He offered us few extra options we could have with additional costs but he never imposed them on us. Within an hour, we drove home in our new car. This dealer waisted no time and being up-front and honest with us. He didn't shove coffee and popcorn into our faces along with lies and deception. Before venturing out to buy a new car, we had assumed that in this economy, people would be treating their customers with respect and dignity. But we quickly encountered many foxes disguised in sheep's coats. My father once said, monkeys never give up climbing trees just because they are old. We truly believe, there are good people there doing good things and bad people there doing bad things regardless of race, religion or the place they come from. As we drove to Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, I said to Karen, this is our third dealership, let us not be influenced by the negative experiences (including running after our car in the parking lot) we had this morning. We will go there with open mind, we will not be judgmental. But if we find them just as bad we will just walk out again. At Hamer we encountered staff from three different countries with three different races and three different religions in this business transaction. They all had one thing in common, they are all good people. We respect them and we highly recommend them. We will come back. Without trying to become a walking advertisement for Hamer Toyota, I want to share with you, that our new car drives like a dream, it is silent & smooth. We'll miss our BMW but it is time to move on… Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, happens to be the oldest Toyota dealership in California. There is a beautiful picture of Mr. Hamer in every office there, when he first opened the dealership, seventy years ago. We are not surprised at all. With this kind of integrity they will last forever. We are very proud of Hamer Toyota and telling everyone about them and share them on the FaceBook.
