Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

Ask for Oscar! !!!!!!!! Oscar Padilla helped me in Nov 22 to find exactly what I wanted in my RAV4 purchased. I got my sun roof, heated / cool seats and hybrid Ray !!!!!!!! Oscar Padilla helped me in Nov 22 to find exactly what I wanted in my RAV4 purchased. I got my sun roof, heated / cool seats and hybrid Ray 4. When I arrived Oscar was prompt with meeting me and showing me the car. My first thought was oh man RED ugh… But he was able to convince me once I was inside that it drove so smoothly and taking it on the freeway for a bit was helpful to feel the power of the car. Oscar was knowledgeable about the RAV4 Hybrid and answered all my questions and concerns. I was not sure I if was going to buy the car right then and there but I ended up purchasing the car. I put a bigger down payment then I meant too but once I was talking with the finance person Matt I was happy with my interest rate. Matt Morente got me a the best interest rate, I was going to sign with a local credit union but ended up financing with Toyota cause he matched the rate at the credit union! Professional, Honest, and ya he might try to sell a few extra warranties but its fair used cars need warranties etc.. End of day I am super happy about my 2020 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. It drives like a dream. More
