Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

Bought a Prius plugin with Steve! Recently purchased a new Prius plugin with Steve. I was doing my price research and he smoked the competition to the point where two other dealerships Recently purchased a new Prius plugin with Steve. I was doing my price research and he smoked the competition to the point where two other dealerships told me that they couldn't match his monthly payment on my 36 month lease so I went with him. Process was smooth even though the dealership was very busy that day. A week later I called him and he helped me get my green carpool stickers within a few days of my call! Love Toyota Hamer! After totaling my Prius of 7 years I knew I wanted to get back into a Prius but didn't realize how much the car had changed in that time! Steve took me on a test drive and showed me all the new features and was super helpful in making sure I got the exact car I wanted ASAP! All I had to do was come down and sign papers! I was in and out with no hassle! I had a great deal and more importantly great service by not just Steve but Carlos in finance and Bianca! You must see Carlos if you finance!! Will be referring family and friends to this dealership! BTW - this is by far the nicest and biggest Toyota I've ever been in! More

True Car Salesman I was upside down in my car and the salesman threw my keys at me and told me to kick rocks. He said he had worked for Honda before?????
