Our founder Lee Hamer started this company on April 19, 1939 as an automobile general service and repair station on the corner of Sepulveda and San Fernando Mission Boulevards in Mission Hills. With your help and continued patronage Hamer Toyota has continued to grow into the state of the art Automotive Dealership we know today!
Mr. Hamer has won many awards for his charitable contributions to the community as well as for his impeccable reputation for honesty, integrity, and fairness. Lee was very active in the San Fernando Valley including the development of youth, sports and welfare projects that have greatly benefited our community. He was an active community leader in the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, served two terms as President of Los Angeles Fire Commission in the 60s and was a founding member of Holy Cross Medical Center Century Club. Lee was the recipient of the Fernando Award in 1989. The most prestigious award that can be earned, for philanthropic and charitable works.
Over the years he has been an automotive dealer for Hudson, Studebaker, Mercedes, Citroen, Volvo, MG, Triumph, Fiat, Renault, Borgward and Datsun. In July of 1965 we became an Exclusively Toyota Dealership. Mr. Hamer sold an average of about 10 cars a month back then. Today the Dealership average is closer to 500 cars a month and we are among the top 3% of Toyota Dealers in the nation.
Lee Hamer passed away November 15, 1995.

Purchased a new car last year. Car only came with one key. I was told I would be receiving the 2nd key but it was never sent. Salesperson is unresponsive. Purchased a 2024 4RUNNER, end of January. Sales Agent Roberto Menjivar understood my buy-build requirements and produced a car to examine and consider. Roberto was professional and attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the trims available on 4Runner. Good experience. Asst Sales Manager Hugo Acosta listened to my inquiries and produced immediate replies. A pleasure to meet and do business with---in the buy of a new Toyota. Finance Manager Frank Chopra showed as a savvy deal closer. Good tech, paperless office. The end of the deal drives you away. Frank made it understandable, while being personable. You get the feeling that Mr. Chopra can read numbers upside down. Pro. On our purchase of a new Toyota at Hamer Toyota of Mission Hills, everything went 1st rate for this buyer. Recommend. More

I first met with Steve months ago to ask about cars and to research my options. He answered all my questions never pressuring me. I contacted him a month and a half later and told him what I wanted. He searched the inventory and found me my new car without upselling me. He made buying a car so easy because he listened to me and found me exactly what I wanted for the best price. When I reached out to other dealerships to make sure that I was getting the best price, no one came close to what Steve was getting me my Rav 4 for. The closest offer was at least $1000 more and an hour away. Steve made the whole experience so easy and stressfree which is a challenge when you are spending so much money. Steve could have easily tried to upsell me but he didn’t. He was always honest, upfront, and helpful. 20 years ago my dad bought me a Toyota Corolla 2003 from Steve because he trusted him. I just bought a Rav 4 hybrid 2024 from Steve because I trust him now and when I need to buy my next car 10-15 years from now, I’m going to reach out to Steve. More

Steve is a rare example of a salesman that does not make you feel like you were taken in some way. He is down to earth and gets straight to the point with no xx.
