Hello Anonasdf - My Dealership participates in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at their dealership. Yes, we do charge a DOC (dealer) fee, though the amount is and always has been $199. It is also true that a good number of dealers only charge $50, as they are in a state that governs how much a dealer can charge for a fee and they have a cap of $75. In Mass., there is no such law and as for other dealers here in Mass, without naming any names, there are a great deal of dealers that charge as much as $389. Perhaps the confusion comes in that when we make a car deal with a NY resident, as a practice we charge initially for the Registration, $250 that gets combined with our DOC fee and is a total of $449. The $250 charged is only to be sure that there is enough collected at the time of registration as NY charges differently for vehicles to be registered and once we have receipt of the exact cost to register, we instantly re-reimburse the customer the difference to the $250 collected. In all, I am very sorry that there was a miscommunication in your dealings with us, but we certainly do not charge, nor have we ever charged a DOC fee of $400. We are grateful for your business, as we are for all of our valued customers and we can only hope that we will have a chance to better your impression of us in any future dealings.
