My wife’s Accord’s license plate backup light had burned out after 18 years. So I had replaced both of those just in case the other decided to stop working as well. I was notified by AV that I would also have a complimentary check up of the car to see if there was any other problems that needed to be addressed. I was told that everything was in good order but my tires were over 5 years old and I might consider replacing them in the future. That was something that was good to know because my wife usually drives her car most of the time. One good thing about the check up is that the tire pressures are checked. With the recent drop in temperatures, the tire pressure will drop 1 pound per 10 degrees drop, this causes a decrease in mileage that in her car. More

Yesterday, 12/2/2024 my Honda 100 month warrantied battery failed after 40 months. I had bought the battery from Gunn Honda and returning to Gunn Honda, I expected a new battery with a small deductib battery failed after 40 months. I had bought the battery from Gunn Honda and returning to Gunn Honda, I expected a new battery with a small deductible. My service representative Da'Shun called me and told me that it would cost $141.00 for the replacement battery. I was very surprised at the price so I asked what a brand new battery normally cost. Da'Shun said that they cost $250.00. I was surprised at this and I walked over to the parts department where they quoted me a price of $119.00. I then talked to Alexis mendoza, the customer service manager, who told me that they would have to charge me $96.00 installation fee just to install the battery. This is an incredible price for a battery installation. (I called Fernandez Honda also in San Antonio and their fee for installing a battery is $35.00) When I objected to the price. I said that I could always go to Autozone and he agreed with me and he even gave me Autozone prices. This is not a very good way to build up customer loyalty in my opinion. I finally had to call Honda of America and I found out that they should have given me a 60% credit on a $119.00 battery which came out to $71.40 leaving a balance of $47.60 but they added the $96.00 battery installation charge. I had to talk to a general manager to get the situation resolved. In short, DO NOT BUY A BATTERY from Gunn Honda. Also, the last time I was at Gunn Honda for an oil change, they told me that all they could do was an oil change and if I wanted them to do a general inspection of the car as in look at the brakes, etc., that it was an extra charge of $75.00, and not free as in the past. This seems excessive to me. More
