If I could give Gunn Honda 500 stars...I would I have bought a lot of cars over the years. I have had a wide range of experiences, ranging from the good (felt good walking out of the dealership), t I have bought a lot of cars over the years. I have had a wide range of experiences, ranging from the good (felt good walking out of the dealership), to the bad (a salesperson dropping their pen in disgust at the end of the deal, put his head in his hands, and groan because I did not finance with them), to the ugly (a sales manager shouting at me and refusing to give me a full tank of gas after a completed sale because I got "too good" of a price). I provide these examples to let you know that I have been around and have experienced it all when it comes to car purchases. I have NEVER had a better experience than I did with Gunn Honda. Period. The end of the story...but I think I will still tell you the story. :o) We were needing a vehicle with a bed to handle our daughter's future activities. We looked at a Honda Ridgeline and liked how it fit our needs. Thus, we started the process of contacting dealers and trying to work out a deal. I was having decent luck, but had a few of the dealers trying to play games. I then expanded my search out a bit and found Gunn Honda here on DealerRater. It is a bit of a drive (200 miles), but I read the reviews and thought "what do I have to lose?". I don't mind driving for the right deal. I contacted Luis via email since he was the highest rated salesperson and explained my needs and what I was looking for. He responded back very quickly and we began a great dialogue on the price of the vehicle and my trade-in. We eventually arrived at prices on both that were, in my opinion, very good. Luis walked me through the process of all of the paperwork that was needed and also encouraged me to apply for financing through them. I was a bit hesitant as I was already pre-approved through my credit union, but Luis felt that the dealership could find a better rate. Thus, I took the leap and sent in my application. I also sent everything else in to have the paperwork ready to go the next day. We headed over to San Antonio and Luis was there waiting for us with a smile and an offer of a beverage. He immediately set out to review the paperwork with us and get the ball rolling. I have never felt a better sense of care of the customer than I did with Luis. The dealership was busy that day, but everybody looked to be enjoying themselves and the experience. I know we were! Luis got our trade evaluated and it was exactly the value that he had promised us via email. We then had a short wait before we met with Phil in the financing department. Phil was just as gracious as Luis and reviewed through all of the documents with us. We were thrilled when Phil told us that they were able to secure a rate that was 0.5% better than the already GREAT rate my credit union had offered us. We were glad to hear that! Phil then sewed everything up with us and we were on our way. On our way out to the truck, Damon (Sales Manager) greeted us and thanked us so much for the business. We felt a personal touch throughout the process and Damon brought it home with our final interaction before we departed. We were in and out of the dealership in under 2 hours on a (once again) very busy day. Our road trip home (again, 200 miles) was a delight and made for some great memories as well. As I mentioned earlier, this was THE BEST car buying experience I have ever had, and I have bought a few over the years. Gunn Honda has earned a customer for life, and I am very careful about making a statement like that. They are just that good. Thank you again Luis, Phil, and Damon for the first-class experience! :o) More
