No bad traffic to reach this dealership! I have used the Fort Bend Toyota dealership for the last 3 cars (Toyota) I purchased – This time we decided to try Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Kia I have used the Fort Bend Toyota dealership for the last 3 cars (Toyota) I purchased – This time we decided to try Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Kia Sorenta for a SUV - after test driving those, we drove the Toyota Highlander at Fort Bend. They didn't have the exact Highlander I wanted and I didn't like all the traffic to get to the dealership from my small rural town an hour away. So, I called the salesman at Gulf Coast Ford where we drove the Explorer and asked him if he could be our salesman if we changed to a Toyota and he said yes. I told him exactly what I wanted and he got back with me later and told me they could get me one from one of the dealerships in north Houston. We arranged for that SUV and when we went to pick it up the dealership was short on staff but our salesman was able to go with us on a test drive. We agreed to take the car. We had to go back to the Ford building to complete our paperwork (no problem) and then when we asked a couple of questions about the operation of the Highlander our salesman was not able to answer as he was familiar with the Explorer - that was okay - I told him I had seen some youtube videos of the Highlander and I'd check when I got home and see if I could find the answers. My husband notices slight flaws on most anything and he looked the over the SUV and noticed the chrome trim around the windows on the passenger side did not meet perfectly as they did on the driver's side. And also noticed a piece of that trim was "squishey" not tight like the others. We would have liked some assurance that this could be taken care of in the service department and an appointment for this would have been appreciated. I just figured I'd bring it back later so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I think I would have been happier with my experience at Gulf Coast Toyota if I’d had someone explain the new features of the Highlander to me. But I will figure them out via youtube and the manual that came with the SUV. I am completely happy with the drive to Angleton versus the drive to Fort Bend Toyota. We liked our salesman and understand that sometimes staff is shorthanded. I believe my experience could have been "excellent" as the dealership was clean and friendly but I do wish I knew how to work a few of the main features of this high tech SUV! More
